Franny Friesz of Adventure Life and Lucas Studer of Exito were tremendously helpful. Franny responded immediately to all my inquiries with professionalism and with a welcome sense of humor. Lucas provided with important perspective by offering the wisest options for flight connections. The drivers Adventure Life secured for me in Buenos Aires and Ushuaia provided perfect service. In both cities the drivers greeted with a clear sign and with good cheer. They drove safely, the cars were comfortable, and the drivers offered pleasant and interesting information about their cities. My hotel in Ushuaia, Hotel de los Andes, was comfortable and conveniently located. And, though I had informed Franny and Lucas that I required gluten free food on the airplanes and on the ship, I was both surprised and impressed to find that the hotel was ready with gluten free food for me, too. In addition, I was impressed that Adventure Life’s local agent, Jose Galotti of Kallpa Tour, called me at my hotel to check on me, and to make sure I knew where and when to board the ship. Finally, I was also reassured by Adventure Life’s emails that arrived the day before I departed. I felt as if Franny were right there with me seeing me off. Adventure Life seems to appreciate and anticipate the stresses that a traveler can feel when planning a trip to Antarctica, and I am grateful for Adventure Life’s, particularly Franny’s, sensitivity to my concerns. I am also delighted to report that all of my worrying was needless because everything about my trip turned out to be safe, organized, and simply wonderful!
