Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Arrive Juneau in the morning and transfer to downtown. Experience lunch on your own before meeting for an Alaska State Museum tour after lunch. Meet at the boat this evening for cocktails and a dinner departure. Anchorage this evening is in Taku Harbor. Disembark for a remote walk on the beach with your Naturalist.
Day 2: Alaskan wilderness
A day of cruising today will take you through many narrow and winding passages. Keep a sharp eye on the shoreline for bear, deer and river otter as your expert crew plies these serene and peaceful waterways. Watch the local fishermen troll by or see them hauling in their catch. Your anchorage tonight will be "Captain's Choice."
Day 3: Windham Bay
This morning enjoy some leisure time. Brunch is served on board with an incredible view. Launch kayaks and take advantage of the solitude and serenity of a remote inlet. Later this afternoon, enjoy Windham Bay, another quiet anchorage. Maybe the local miner will be over to the boat to tell you about the old gold mine? His home is in the bay just across from your anchorage.
Day 4: Petersburg
Transit Stephens passage and Frederick Sound as you make your way to Petersburg, Alaska. Humpback whales should be the highlight of the day and watch them feed in these waters. Plan to visit the Five Finger Lighthouse, the first manned lighthouse in the region. Later tonight, enjoy a festive meal in the Norwegian community. Enjoy some local entertainment tonight off ship.
Day 5: LeConte Glacier
Today venture out to LeConte Glacier. Enjoy a speedy jetboat ride, up and over around the ice. You'll be back this afternoon for cocktail hour and a short cruise to another favorite bay — Portage Bay — your evening anchorage off Frederick Sound.
Day 6: Baranoff Warm Springs
It's morning cruising today. Watch for Sea Otters in this area. Move west to Baronoff Island. Visit a place that few know exists and even fewer enjoy: Baranoff Warm Springs. Disembark to shore this morning for a walk up to the local lake. On the way, stop for a dip in one of the hot spring pools or just enjoy the beauty of the Muskeg Forest. Or, if you are not up for the hike, you can spend some time in the hot tubs that overlook the fantastic waterfall.
Day 7: Tenakee Springs
Today cruise north for a special visit to a special wilderness community: Tenakee Springs. Maybe you'll post some mail at the 1902 post office, visit the country store, or enjoy the small bakery. The local residents (only 95 people) spend their summers here to avoid the big ships and big tourist towns. Enjoy this jewel in the wilderness.
Day 8: Admiralty Island / Juneau
It's a leisurely morning at anchor. Today enjoy a cruising day north and around the top of Admiralty Island. Later today, arrive in Juneau in time for a trip to the Red Dog Saloon.
Day 9: Disembark / Return Home
After breakfast disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flights home.

Kate was great to work with in the planning stage. She was prompt, helpful, and efficient. Our tour guide, Edwin, was knowledgeable and passionate. We were very happy to have traveled with Adventure Life, it made the trip easy and a true pleasure. We could concentrate on enjoying the experience rather than the details of travel.

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
