Visit a local village and participate in a traditional ceremony
Explore Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, the largest reserve in Peru
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Fly from Lima to Iquitos on the afternoon flight. You are greeted upon arrival and transported to the M/V Cattleya Journey riverboat. Upon arrival, take some time to settle in, relax, and have a drink as you get to know your fellow passengers. Savor the first of many wonderful dinners by the ship's talented chef as you begin your journey along the Amazon.
Enjoy breakfast as you cruise along the Marañón River. Board your excursion boat for a day-long excursion in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, the largest reserve in Peru and the second largest in all the Amazon. Travel by excursion boat from Yanayacu Creek to the remote Yarina Cocha. Take a rainforest hike and experience the huge biodiversity that the rainforest is known for! Watch for monkeys, sloths, tree-frogs, iguanas, pink and gray river dolphins, and many varieties of bird species. Examine and learn first-hand about jungle plants–their unique survival tactics as they compete for sun and nutrients in the dense rainforest, the part they play in sustaining the complex balance of life in the jungle, and the important medicinal value they offer.
In the morning, depart for your next adventure, a spectacular tour of the rainforest from its canopy. Take a short hike to the canopy walkway, a suspended bridge spanning over 500 meters (1/3 of a mile) connected by platforms in the rainforest treetops. Experience a unique view of the rainforest flora and fauna from heights reaching 35 meters (115 feet). In the afternoon, visit one of the local villages to gain a deeper insight into how people live in the Amazon. Meet a local shaman and participate in a traditional ceremony of spiritual healing.

Kate was great to work with in the planning stage. She was prompt, helpful, and efficient. Our tour guide, Edwin, was knowledgeable and passionate. We were very happy to have traveled with Adventure Life, it made the trip easy and a true pleasure. We could concentrate on enjoying the experience rather than the details of travel.

Adventure Life has been an extraordinary travel resource for us over the years and today was no exception. Our River Cruise booking was handled by Jess (who has been our personal trip planner for several years) the same day as our inquiry. Suggestions were given for cabin choice and pre-trip options (that were not shown on the cruise line's website) like airport transfers and prepaid gratuities. Trip insurance recommendations followed and we were assigned a travel co-ordinator till the end of the tour. All we have to do is show up! Great service from friendly folks.

Our travel was flawless! The rider pickup (airport, hotel, ship) was seamless. Jane's recommendation for Emerald Cruise Sakara was everything I wanted but the experience was soooo much more. Adventure Life took care of each and every detail and this was the easiest of all my travels.
