Getting to the Lodge

Two-hour boat ride down the Napo River
Two-hour boat ride down the Napo River
Not a particularly easy place to get to. Thirty-minute flight from Quito to Coca, Ecuador. Two-hour boat ride down the Napo River. The Napo is a primary tributary to the Amazon River. A twenty-minute hike through the jungle, on what was later referred to as ''The Interstate Highway''. A canoe ride down a jungle stream. Across a black-water lake to the lodge, hidden yet in the jungle.

Once there, we found our lodging to be quite beautiful and comfortable.
