The southern cross (Monticello Jr.)
An early morning canoe trip presented many birds and pink dolphins. We went to a small village and experienced how the "settlers" lived. I was amazed to see they had a satellite dish and generator so they could watch 2 hours of TV per day. Football (soccer) and soap operas seem to be the favorite. I guess that's progress. The daily routine for the men is to tend the small vegetable gardens for a few hours in the morning; then they go fishing for a few hours in the afternoon. They then rest until 6 p.m. when they go fishing or spend time with friends... Not a bad life. It is so peaceful. A good time for personal reflection. I have been on numerous trips around the globe but this has to be the most relaxing and peaceful of them all.
