Stromness whaling station (Fergus Fricke)
At last we set foot on the Antarctic Continent and walk up a glacier until we are in danger of falling down a crevasse. In the afternoon we landed at Paulett Island to see a few more penguins and cormorants amongst other things and a reminder of yet another heroic ship loss and survival, this time by the Norwegians.
