Lonesome George, the famous Pinta Island tortoise of the Galapagos, has died. George was a beloved icon of the Galapagos Islands and his death comes as a shock to some. This year Adventure Life has kicked off our Sports Sponsorship Program. When we’re not exploring places like Peru, Nicaragua, trekking Patagonia or cruising Antarctica, Adventure Lifers find time to volunteer around Missoula and be as active as we can! Recently, Adventure Life employees took a Saturday together to brave the rapids of the mighty Lochsa River in Idaho. The Lochsa River is pronounced “lock-saw” which means rough water in the Nez Perce Language. It has 37 Class III, 25 Class IV, and two Class V rapids that had us alert and ready for anything.
