Tayka del Desierto is located in a place called Ojo de Perdiz, named for an eye of water in the vicinity and which feeds the hotel.

This simple hotel was built utilizing the Tayka sand stone and volcanic materials which are characteristic of the area. The majority of the hotel roof is covered with the traditional straw cover typically used throughout the Andean region. The hotel uses mainly solar energy, with an integrated heating system in the rooms based on circulating hot water radiators which emit plentiful heat.

The cozy restaurant offers the chance to taste delicious local and international cuisine and enjoy a beautiful view of the plateau.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
