Araras EcoLodge is a pioneer enterprise in Mato Grosso Pantanal, located on a rural property just 2 hours from Cuiaba airport. The main goal of the lodge is to contribute toward self-sustained development of the Pantanal basin by supporting the conservation of nature and native culture. Remote and authentic, Araras offers its guests intimate contact with nature and Pantanal Culture during tours of Brazil. The origin of the lodge dates back to 1944, when it served as a large cattle-breeding ranch. Since then, the farmhouse has received multiple additions which have transformed it into a harmonious building beside a flood channel, open fields, and woods. Araras EcoLodge provides an excellent standard of service, safety, comfort and well-being. Featuring just 19 guest rooms, the lodge is private and secluded. Each of the rooms offers en-suite bathrooms with solar energy heated showers, air conditioning, and a ceiling fan. Guests are entranced by the lodge's lack of electronic music or television, which encourages a greater contact with the sounds and the light of nature. *Swimming pool *Parlor *Bar *Restaurant *Wi-Fi internet connection *Large verandas *Hammocks *Reading room *Conference hall *Gift shop

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
