Day 1: San Juan, Puerto Rico

Arrive in Puerto Rico and transfer to the port in San Juan. Board the SeaDream II and attend dinner as the ship sets sail.

Day 2: Culebrita Island | Esperanza, Vieques Island, Puerto Rico

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
This tiny island is a natural lover's paradise and part of a wildlife refuge, located just about one mile east of the island of Culebra. Because of its special status, the only permanent structure on the island is the abandoned lighthouse high on the hill. For the energetic, the trail hike up there is well worth the views over the surrounding area.

Vieques is part of the United States Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (USCW), but, like the rest of Puerto Rico, retains strong influences from 400 years of Spanish ownership. Its two main towns are Isabel Segunda, the administrative center on the northern side of the island, and Esperanza on the southern side. At peak, the population of Vieques is around 10,000. The island's name is a Spanish spelling of an American Indian word (likely Taíno) said to mean "small island". It also has the nickname "Isla Nena", usually translated from the Spanish as "Little Girl Island", alluding to its perception as Puerto Rico's little sister.

Optional Activities:

Esperanza, Vieques Island – Bioluminescent Bay Encounter: Hidden along the Caribbean coast on the Island of Vieques, Puerto Rico is one of the most spectacular bioluminescent bays in the world. Tiny organisms known as dinoflagellates create the mysterious blue-green light. A trip into the bay is a magical and educational experience. Fish flash by in the dark water, the Milky Way arches overhead, and kicking your legs in the water is like moving them through stardust. This amazing experience is operated via a non-polluting electric boat staffed by a knowledgeable and entertaining captain and crew who explain the delicate balance of this rare ecosystem.
Duration: 2 hours

Day 3: Saba, Netherlands Antilles

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Saba is the smallest special municipality of the Netherlands. It consists largely of the potentially active volcano Mount Scenery, which at 887 meters (2,910 ft) is the highest point within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The island has a land area of 13 square kilometers (5.0 sq mi). Its current towns and major settlements are The Bottom (the capital), Windwardside Town, Hell's Gate, and St. Johns. As the island is part of the Netherlands, Dutch is the official language.

Optional Activities:

Saba - Hiking The Crispeen Track: If you like a good workout in beautiful natural surroundings, this hike is for you! Enjoy some of Saba's unspoiled beauty with a hike along the Crispeen Track. Named for Saint Crispeen, the patron saint of shoemakers, this vigorous trail starts at the little town known as The Bottom. From the tender pier, you get to the starting point by local taxi van and set out with your local nature guide. The guide points out the island flora as the trail leads you through the rainforest, across fields and over a forest ridge. The trail continues through pasture land, highlighting views of The Bottom and secondary rainforest, until it meets with the Mt. Scenery Trail. From this point, a downhill trek of about 300 steps brings you to the town of Windward side, where you have some free time to buy a refreshment or do some shopping. At the time and place designated by your driver, you are picked up for the ride down to the tender landing and the ship.
Duration: 3 hours

Saba - Saba Scuba - One & Two Tank Dives: Experienced PADI certified divers now have the chance to find out why Saba is considered by enthusiasts to be the premiere dive spot in the Caribbean. You are met pier-side to board the dive boat, then head off on a one-tank dive that offers the perfect introduction to the amazing flora and fauna in the waters surrounding this volcanic island. The exact location of the dive is decided by the dive master based on sea conditions. Two tank dives may be available on request and are subject to time and conditions on the day of your visit.
Duration: 2 - 3.5 hours

Saba - Saba Sights: Find out today why the charming island of Saba has been dubbed the "unspoiled queen." This adventure introduces you to the island's history and main points of interest and is your best and most convenient way to "see it all." Your sightseeing is conducted in the local taxi vans that await to show you the island's main villages and magnificent scenery. Starting at the port, you first visit "The Bottom", Saba's capital. Then continue through St. John's, home to the island's schools, where you have an incredible vantage point of the neighboring islands of St. Eustatius, St. Kitts and Nevis. Then pass through Windward Side, the village at the highest elevation, en route to Hell's Gate. Here the local ladies have their Saba Lacework on display, and there's a beautiful view of Saba's death-defying airport and surrounding islands from the Holy Rosary Church. Finally, return to the Windward Side for some free time to explore the village, do some shopping, or grab a snack before returning to the harbor. Please do not judge the beauty of this magnificent island by the industrial looking harbor. This island simply should not be missed.

Leaving the harbor of Gustavia, your guide in the lead takes the road above the harbor and through St. Bart's villages. The ride makes its way to St. Jean near the airport passing the famous “Col de la Tourmente” where you may come across a plane landing, a great photo stop! Just after the airport, the ATVs go around the pond of St. Jean and climb up the hill that is overlooking Salines. Continuing via the valley of “Petite Salines”, the ride arrives in “Grand Fond”, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. View dramatic scenery, dominated on the left by the “Morne Vitet”, the highest mountain on the island (286m) with a deep green valley and the blue and white of the raging ocean. The group continues along the water towards Toiny and later towards Lorient and its famous cemeteries, Saint-Jean, and its sea resort-style with shops and restaurants, and makes it up to the top of “Lurin” before going down to Gustavia. The ride goes up back on the road and slowly drives down towards Gustavia harbor. This is a great way to explore one of the most popular islands in the Caribbean.

Gustavia - St. Barts Semi-Submersible - "Under The Sea": No matter what your plans are for St. Barts, do not miss a trip below water level! The trip into the Marine Park is short but exciting and also combines well with all the other activities on the island! After boarding, step down into the tunnel-like hull for a seat in front of the underwater windows. If you wish, you may stay outside on the upper deck. As you reach the edge of the harbor you should be able to see some of the many green turtles that have chosen to live in the island's clean little harbor. Shortly thereafter, the vessel passes over the wreck of the 50-foot island freighter "Marignan" that sunk during hurricane "Luis" in 1995. Continue across the Saint Barth Marine Park and marvel at the lively underwater parade in front of you. Here, the sea bottom is full of colorful coral reefs that are gently invaded by troops of "sergeant majors" fish. Following this spectacle, it is time to head back to the pier. You may decide to stay outside on the upper deck from where you can enjoy views of the many beautiful yachts and breathtaking shores of Saint Barts.
