Situated 550 kilometres off the coast of Costa Rica, Cocos Island boasts an incredible ecosystem consisting of a lush tropical forest, more than 200 waterfalls, and turquoise-blue waters that are home to turtles, manta rays, whale sharks and other marine life. Cocos Island is also known as “Treasure Island”. The nickname comes not from the richness of the island’s flora and fauna, but from the fact that, between the 17th and 19th centuries, it was a favourite place for pirates to hide their booty. Today, it is a destination for distinguished researchers and highly skilled divers. The only way to reach this veritable Garden of Eden is by cruise ship.

AUTHENTIC EMBERA INDIAN VILLAGE
This tour was designed for you to step aboard a time machine and travel back more than 600 years; to a Central America only few have had the privilege of experiencing. More than a tour, this is a journey into the lives of the Embera Indian Tribe. A proud people, who have been able to maintain their traditions and lifestyle as it was before the Spaniards colonized the region. Start out the expedition aboard an air-conditioned coach where your guide gives you an overview of Panama on the way to the jungles of the Central Region. Your host prepares you for the cultural feast you are about to experience by sharing the history and customs of the Embera Indians, who are the keepers of the rainforest and Chagres River.
When you arrive at the Chagres National Park, leave the comfort of your vehicle to board the dugout canoes that takes you to the Embera Village. Although not the most luxurious, these dug outs are sturdy and worthy craft which were critical in the conquering of the jungle and in establishing supply lifelines for both Indians and Spanish.
After motoring up river, see the village emerge from the jungle as if by magic. Keep your eyes open along the way, as the region offers abundant wildlife that is particularly active along the rivers' edge. In the village, the Chief will welcome you with traditional Embera hospitality. A series of dances have been arranged to add to this cultural exchange.
Feel free to wander the village, ask questions or interact with these quiet people. Please remember that you are guests in their home and a good measure of common sense and sensitivity towards their privacy is appreciated. The Embera men and woman are spectacular craftsmen who have produced some beautiful items, which is available for purchase as souvenirs of this unique experience. All too soon, it is time to return to your century, where the bliss and tranquillity of older days has been all but forgotten.
The most remote and least developed region of Panama, the province of Darien is an unspoilt land with an extremely rich variety of flora and fauna. Admire its extraordinary scenery of rocky coastlines, mountain ranges, mangroves, rivers and creeks. If you head for the Afro-Darienite village of Punta Alegre, gain a deeper insight into this unexplored area. This tiny coastal village is home to the Emberas Amerindian community. From Punta Alegre, you can head to Darien National Park, listed by UNESCO as World Heritage and considered one of the most diversified parks in the whole of Central America.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.

We book a tour to Peru with them in May. Viewing from their website we didn’t realize that they are private tour company but after quoting the price, it seems reasonable for a private tour, let’s see how’s their service after our tour. The process of booking went smoothly except the payment part which need a bit of work. Need to improve better payment method and options.
