You are picked up early this morning and head out of the city across the Maipo Valley. Arrive to the river base of either San Alfonso or San Jose where you meet your guides who will give you a safety briefing and get your equipement set up (wetsuit, helmet, paddle jacket and life jacket). Listen to a safety and technical instructions talk before setting out. The Maipo River flows between steep canyon gorges in the heart of the Andes mountains. The whitewater is a Class III-IV (depending on the snow melt) and suitable for both first timers and experienced rafters. Enjoy te Andean scenery and agricultural terrain of the Chilean countryside. Enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant after the take out and head back towards Santiago. Stop en route at the tiny village of La Obra where the local El Raco winery is located. Take a peak at the wine production before continuing on to Santiago in the early evening.
This is a full day tour. Saturdays and Sundays are the days that normally gather more participants.
