The Hacienda San Jose was built in the year 1888, is one of the oldest in the region. Its hundred+ years of history are found throughout the furnishings and in the details of construction; Cauca, Spanish and Antiochian influences are all found in the architecture.

The landscape surrounding the Hacienda offers century-old samanes, kapok and calabashes. Guests are invited to explore the grounds by horseback riding and hiking trails in the reserve. Birding on the grounds is also excellent; more than hundred species of different endemic and migratory birds have been cataloged at the hacienda. San José visitors can also take advantage of the hacienda's extensive international menu, wine list from different houses and regional dishes that reflect traditions of the area.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
