Journal Requirements
- The journal contest is open to all Adventure Life Alumni travelers, whether you traveled with us 9 years ago, or just returned home yesterday.
- Journals entered into previous contest are not eligible for 2010 competition. Journals eligible for 2010 contest must be created no earlier than the closing date of our previous journal contest (closing date was: August 1, 2009).
- Journal entries must be based on experiences from a trip with Adventure Life.
- Journals to be considered for the contest need to be a minimum of 500 words
- Journals to be considered for the contest need to include a minimum of 6 pictures. These 6 pictures must include description text.
- Journals to be considered for the contest must utilize the map feature, and map the itinerary, when are where possible.
- Journals to be considered for the contest must be "Viewable by Anyone." This means they will be posted on www.Adventure-Life.com and viewable to the general public.
- Malicious and vulgar text is prohibited.
- Adventure Life has the right to use any posted journal text and/or photos for marketing purposes.
- Adventure Life has the right to use the name of winner, and their journal entry, for marketing purposes.
- If your traveling companion creates a journal too, each journal must be distinctly different from each other.
- You are welcome create as many journal entries as you please for "Best Trip Journal" consideration.
- Winners must create an online journal and photo album after they return from their prized trip for Adventure Life to use for marketing purposes.
- Best Trip Journal contest is open from Oct. 16, 2009 through Sept. 30, 2010. Submissions are due by Sept. 30, 2010. Winner will be contacted by Oct. 16, 2010.
Video Requirements
- The video contest is open to all travelers, but needs to be located in a destination where Adventure Life travels..
- Adventure Life alumni are allowed to submit entries for both the Trip Video Drawing and Best Trip Journal contest.
- Preferred length is between 30 sec. to 3 min. Videos must not exceed 10 minutes.
- Videos should be interesting, and give a since of place and/or experience.
- Adventure Life has the right to request edits be made before a video is accepted into the drawing.
- Personal branding of video, malicious and vulgar text and/or images is prohibited.
- Adventure Life has the right to use any posted video for marketing purposes.
- Adventure Life has the right to use the name of winner, and their video, for marketing purposes.
- If your traveling companion creates a video too, each video must be distinctly different from each other.
- Travelers are welcome to submit multiple videos, but only two submissions will be considered in the drawing.
- Submitted videos will be uploaded by Adventure Life into Adventure Life's YouTube Channel - and viewable on both YouTube and Adventure Life's website.
- After you video is submitted, you will receive an email from Adventure Life, confirming upload and requesting a brief description of your video (such as the location of the video) to be included on YouTube.
- Winners must create a video after they return from their prized trip and submit to Adventure Life to use for marketing purposes.
- Drawing will take place on Oct. 1, 2010. Winner will be notified no later than Oct. 16, 2010
Best Trip Journal Prize: Trip for two on Patagonia Wildlife Safari + Mare/Via Australis Cruise
- The Patagonia Wildlife Safari and Australis Cruise for two is offered during the months of March, April, October and November 2011.
- Depending on availability and winner's preference, the cruise can begin before or after time at EcoCamp.
- Prize consists of 5D/4N stay at EcoCamp's Suite Domes + 4D/3N cruise on the Mare/Via Australis, and one hotel night in either El Calafate, Punta Arenas or Ushuia (depending on itinerary)
- Booking needs to be made 30 days in advance. Subject to availability.
- Prize value - up to $6,900 (based on 2010 pricing and AA cabin-type on the Mare/Via Australis).
- Trip does not include any personal expenses and international or internal flights not regularly included in the tour cost.
- The Patagonia cruise portion of the prize is offered on either the Mare Australis, or sister ship, Via Australis, depending on availability.
- Offer not redeemable for cash.
- Best Trip Journal contest is open from Oct. 16, 2009 through Sept. 30, 2010. Submissions are due by Sept. 30, 2010. Winner will be contacted by Oct. 16, 2010.
- Travelers must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for prize.
- Winners must create an online journal and photo album after they return from their prized trip for Adventure Life to use for marketing purposes.
Prize for Video Drawing: 10-day Galapagos trip onboard the Eric, Letty, Flamingo
- The Galapagos Cruise for two is offered during the 2011 low season; September through February (exluding holiday weeks such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Presidents Day).
- Prize consists of 7-night Galapagos cruise, and two nights Quito hotel, before and after the cruise.
- Prize value - up to $6780 (based on 2010 rates in booby-deck cabin)
- Booking needs to be made 60 days in advance. Subject to availability.
- Trip does not include any personal expenses, park entrance fee, transit card, international or internal flights not regularly included in the tour cost.
- Offer not redeemable for cash.
- Drawing will take place on Oct. 1, 2010. Winner will be notified no later than Oct. 16, 2010
