Without a doubt, the ultimate fly-fishing program is one full of adventures and surprises that will captivate the hearts of all courageous explorers. Seeking out places where humankind has barely been, fishing in streams that haven’t been altered or polluted by human influence, and discovering landscapes that have never been touched by any but Mother Nature, are the privileges our guests will experience.

To ensure these privileges, we rely on our cutting edge aero-maritime transport systems: a Bell 407 helicopter, 6 jet-boats, a Hurricane 920 RIB zodiac, and other smaller watercrafts such as Zodiacs and catacrafts. Meanwhile, 36 McKenzie boats and 12 jet-skiffs are placed in strategic spots among the Patagonian fjords, readily available for fishing trips into deeper territory. This equipment allows us to penetrate into the most secluded rivers, lagoons, and mountains, some of them lying untouched by human presence, waiting to be discovered.

As an adventure angler, you may become part of a scouting team, which adds a whole new dimension to each expedition. There is no such thing as being bound to a specific location; groups are free to explore privileged sites, including some that have rarely, if ever, seen a fishing line. Needless to say, trophy catches are not hard to find.

Please note that this is a sample itinerary only. There is no fixed itinerary for this cruise; Atmosphere itineraries allow room for the unpredictable and unexpected surprises that make each trip unique. All trips are tailor-made according to weather conditions, guest preferences, time of year, and the Captain's discretion, in order to provide the very best possible experience.

Day 1 Arrive Puerto Montt / Embark on the Atmosphere

Welcome to the marina in the afternoon for check-in, induction, and boarding of the M/V Atmosphere. Take some time to settle into your cabin and explore the ship. We'll depart this evening from Puerto Montt, with views of the magnificent Osorno, Calbuco, and Tronador volcanoes filled with late lavender daylight, while sailing throughout the north head of the pristine Ancud Gulf. Scenic views of the whole southern area, which will be Atmosphere's course during the following days, will complete a spectacular fly-fishing journey.

Day 2 Auchemo Island Bay

Wake up at Auchemo Island Bay, with northern views of Puntiagudo and its emerald blue glaciers as well as the steep granite walls of the Andes mountain range that here abruptly fall into the fjords. Take your first ride in the helicopter on your way to the remote Patagonian wilderness. Land near creeks and rivers filled with crystal-clear water, where you'll have the chance to fish for trophy-sized brown and rainbow trout. Return to the Atmosphere in the evening, and look for bird life, such as the albatross, as you enjoy the sunset from the deck.

Day 3 Tic Toc Bay

Wake up at Tic Toc's sheltered bay, surrounded by northern views of the magnificent Corcovado volcano and its majestic and untouched national park. Today we'll fly fish for healthy resident brown and rainbow trout in multiple nearby river systems, a high altitude lagoon, and a world-class spring creek.

Day 4 Ventisquero Sound

After sailing through narrow fjords, wake up at one of the many bays of Ventisquero Sound. Take a Zodiac Hurricane sailing trip through a strait with dramatic landscapes, and head to the long sound at Magdalena Island National Park. Cast your lines over some of the most spectacular and scenic river-fjord systems in all of Chile, fishing for coastal and resident trophy brown trout, rainbow trout, silver salmon, and king salmon. In the evening, relax tired muscles in one of the area's many breath-taking natural hot springs.

Day 5 Guaitecas Archipelago

Wake up at the Guaitecas Archipelago with its surprising biological diversity and an ecosystem consisting of hundreds of magical islands. We have fabulous views of the Moraleda Channel and the steep Andes mountains to the east. Fish for resident trout and native peladillas in isolated lagoons within the archipelago as well as in river systems of the sheltered fjords along the west coast of Magdalena Island. Later, there may be a chance to take a helicopter flight over this beautiful landscape, so we can see the archipelago, islands, and hidden bays and estuaries from above.

Day 6 Leptepu Fjord

Wake up in one the bays within the historic Leptepu Fjord, with calm waters lapping against sheer mountain cliffs. Travel to nearby lagoons and local rivers, fishing for trophy-sized brown and rainbow trout, native robalos, and the Sierra mackerel.

Back at the Atmosphere, take a short kayak trip through the calm waters of the fjord or choose the adventure of a whitewater rafting trip. End the day by relaxing in nearby natural hot springs with your favorite drink while the Atmosphere's talented staff prepares one last exquisite dinner.

Day 7 Puerto Montt / Disembark / Return Home

We arrive early in Puerto Montt Bay, anchoring there at first daylight. Disembark and connect to flights home or continue with your South American adventures.
