Day 2: Misty Fjords
Sail towards Misty Fjords and admire the 3,000-foot glacier-sculpted cliffs which surround you. Discover the fjords’ natural history, listen to the calls of a myriad seabirds, and feel the mist from numerous glistening waterfalls.
Day 3: Kasaan & Thorne Bay
Arrive in Kasaan and walk a magical forest path to The Chief Son-I-Hat Whale House, the only remaining Haida clan house in North America. There are three totems inside which date to 1880, brought from Old Kasaan by the chief himself. Take a guided walking tour and explore Thorne Bay, once the largest logging camp in the world.
Day 4: Coffman Cove & Wrangell
Visit one of Alaska’s best kept secrets: Coffman Cove. Take a jet boat out and tour the Stikine River, the fastest navigable free-flowing river left in North America. In the evening, explore downtown Wrangell and the Chief Shakes Tribal House.
Day 5: Petersburg
Arrive in charming Petersburg, which was founded by Norwegian fishermen in the late 1800s. The village remains a fishing town today. Enjoy a performed folk dance by local children at the Sons of Norway Hall, then have time to explore the town.
Day 6: Kake
Visit the traditional Tlingit Indian Village of Kake, which includes a totem carving display, dance performance, the 'World’s Tallest Totem Pole.' Take a tour of the local salmon hatchery and hope to spot some bears from its bear viewing platform.
Day 7: Hobart Bay
Spend the day at Hobart Bay and explore the area by sea kayak, zego runabouts and RTVs. This secluded location is sometimes known for its opportunities of seeing black bears on the shore.
Day 8: Tracy Arm Fjord
Explore the spectacular Tracy Arm Fjord, which was carved into the landscape by an old glacier. The fjord features sheer 4,000 foot granite walls which are laced with waterfalls. View the icy glacier face and seals up close from a zodiac.
Day 9: Juneau & Orca Point Lodge
Spend a day in the Alaska's scenic state capital: Juneau. Visits to the city include viewing the massive Mendenhall Glacier and a soaring ride on the Mount Roberts Tram. Journey to the exclusive Orca Point Lodge and enjoy its beautiful grounds, beach, and marine life touch-tank.
Day 10: Glacier Bay National Park
Join a Glacier Bay National Park Service Ranger for lectures and narratives about the traditional culture of Alaska. A Native Huna Tlingit interpretive naturalist is also present to answer any questions you may have.
Day 11: Gustavus
Adventure awaits in Gustavus! Enjoy a guided walking tour along the meandering Salmon River through a charming rural town, where local art galleries feature scrimshaw and woodcarving.
Day 12: Skagway & Haines
Stroll the boardwalks of an old Klondike gold rush city before boarding the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad (passport required) for a journey which retraces the steps of the gold-seekers. A guided walking tour through scenic Haines features a visit to pre-WWI Fort Seward National Historic Site which overlooks the Lynn Canal.
Day 13: Sitka / Disembark
In the morning, disembark the ship and transfer to the airport for your connecting flights home.

Everything was amazing! The planning with Adventure Life went smoothly. The actual trip was fantastic! One of the best trips I have experienced. The cruise staff members were knowledgeable and attentive. I will be writing more about this on the blog!

Adventure Life has been an extraordinary travel resource for us over the years and today was no exception. Our River Cruise booking was handled by Jess (who has been our personal trip planner for several years) the same day as our inquiry. Suggestions were given for cabin choice and pre-trip options (that were not shown on the cruise line's website) like airport transfers and prepaid gratuities. Trip insurance recommendations followed and we were assigned a travel co-ordinator till the end of the tour. All we have to do is show up! Great service from friendly folks.

Our travel was flawless! The rider pickup (airport, hotel, ship) was seamless. Jane's recommendation for Emerald Cruise Sakara was everything I wanted but the experience was soooo much more. Adventure Life took care of each and every detail and this was the easiest of all my travels.
