San CristobalArrive to the Galapagos and transfer to your ship, the Corals. This afternoon we visit the San Cristobal giant tortoise breeding center to learn more about the Galapagos National Park's conservation programs.
Today we continue to explore San Cristobal. In the morning we stop at Cerro Brujo, an eroding volcanic cone comprised of interesting lava formations. We also visit a lagoon in search of migratory bird species such as the Ruddy Turnstone.
This afternoon we head to Pitt Point and take a hike up volcanic rock, offering up amazing views along the way! If we're lucky, we might just catch a glimpse of all three Booby species: Blue-footed, Red-footed and Nazca.
Mosquera - BartoloméThis morning we visit Mosquera Islet, home to one of the Galapagos Islands' sea lion colonies. In the afternoon we travel to Bartolomé Island, hiking through a stunning volcanic landscape en route to amazing views of the nearby islands. This afternoon affords many wildlife viewing opportunities, including possible encounters with sea turtles and the Galapagos Penguin!
Rábida - Chinese Hat
In the morning we visit Rábida Island and its red sand beaches. Be on the lookout for Brown Pelicans during the months of July through September!
In the afternoon travel to the amazing Chinese Hat Islet, located off the Southeastern tip of Santiago. Take a scenic hike that begins on white sandy beaches full of sea lions, marine iguanas, lava lizards, American Oystercatchers, and Sally Lightfoot crabs. Then follow a trail through well preserved remnants of volcanic rock that are not found anywhere else in this condition, as well as lava tubes and lava flows. After the hike, take the opportunity to snorkel and swim among tropical fish, sea lions, and Galapagos penguins.
Santa Cruz Island - Baltra
This morning we explore the El Chato giant tortoise reserve located in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. We hope to have numerous sightings of the Galapagos tortoise in its natural habitat!
After our visit to the reserve, transfer to the airport for your flight back to mainland Ecuador.
