Join special guest speaker Bill Moyers as you sail the Baltic Sea on this Europe cruise. The Baltic has been a thoroughfare of trade since the days of the Vikings, providing access to great European rivers as well as to the North Sea and beyond. Visit Gothic-style architecture in Tallinn, Rococo in Copenhagen and Stockholm, and Baroque in Karlskrona. Navigate the labyrinth of islands which lead to Stockholm and explore the cobblestoned lanes and medieval walls of Tallinn.

Day 1

    Copenhagen / Embark

Arrive in Copenhagen, Denmark's charming capital city, and transfer to the Corinthian. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure: the ship remains docked overnight.

    Day 2

      Copenhagen

In the morning, enjoy a tour of Copenhagen. Visit Amalienborg Palace, Resenborg Castle, and the renowned classical and ancient collections of the Glyptotek. In the evening, sail for Poland.

      Day 3

Szczecin, Poland / Berlin, Germany / Szczecin

Arrive in Szczecin and transfer to Berlin. Enjoy a full day excursion in this lively and cosmopolitan capital of Germany, and visit several iconic sites such as the Brandenburg Gate and Berlin's famed Museum Island. In the evening, transfer back to the ship in Szczecin.

        Day 4

Karlskrona, Sweden / Kristianopel / Karlskrona

Karlskrona was founded in the 17th centuray as the ice-free home port of Sweden's Baltic fleet. Today, it is Sweden's only Baroque city and remains the home to a naval base. Take a tour of the city and visit its charming old quarter before taking a ride to nearby Kristianopel, a small, historic fishing village which is known for its roses.

          Day 5

            Visby

On Gotland, the largest island in the Baltic Sea, enjoy a walking tour of Visby, a beautifully preserved medieval town.

            Day 6

              Tallinn, Estonia

One of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe, Tallinn reveals a gorgeous and distinctive blend of German, Scandinavian, and Russian influences. Take a walking tour of the Old Town and visit the massive Toompea Castle, the 13th century cathedral, the remains of the old city walls, and several fine medieval merchants' houses.

              Days 7-8

                St. Petersburg, Russia

Enjoy two days in St. Petersburg, the magnificent city which was built by Peter the Great as the "Window on the West." St. Petersburg is lined with canals, beautiful palaces, world-renowned museums, and towering cathedrals. Visit the Hermitage Museum, formerly the Winter Palace of the Czars, which houses one of the world's greatest art collections. Also enjoy Peterhof Palace, the most brilliant of the czars' summer palaces. The palace features the Great Cascade, a gilded, stepped progression of water which flows from the palace to the sea.

                Day 9

                  Helsinki, Finland

Arrive in Finland and explore Helsinki, its energetic, friendly capital. Take a city tour to view its best-loved sites, including the grand Orthodox Uspenski Cathedral, colorful Market Square, subterranean Temppeliaukio Church, and the Sibelius Memorial.
