Day 1: Freetown, Sierra Leone / Embark

Arrive in Freetown and embark Corinthian.

Day 2: Freetown

With lush forests, nature reserves, and white-sand beaches, Sierra Leone is one of West Africa’s most attractive destinations. Tour the capital Freetown, including the Sierra Leone Museum, St. George’s cathedral (1828), and the city’s colorful markets. Visit picturesque regent Village, with early 19th-century Krio-style houses, and the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Alternatively, travel to Bunce Island, known for its enormous slave fort, now a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 3: Monrovia, Liberia

Founded in 1847 by African Americans, Liberia elected Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf as president in 2005 - Africa’s first female head of state. Situated between a river and the sea, Monrovia was named after President James Monroe. Tour the city, including the National Museum, displaying Libera’s famed masks; and the Waterside Market, where colorful textiles and other artifacts are sold. Also, meet with government officials and learn about the country’s recent history and development plans.

Day 4-5: At Sea

Enjoy the numerous on-board amenities of your yacht-like small ship as she cruises the Atlantic Ocean en route to Ascension Island.

Day 6-7: Ascension Island

Corinthian calls at tiny Ascension, a British overseas territory. Discovered by the Portuguese in 1501, the island is renowned for its green turtles. It is also the most important breeding place for seabirds in the Tropical Atlantic. Among the species that nest here are sooty terns, boobies, the rare Ascension frigate bird, Boatswain birds, petrels, and noddies.

Day 8-12: At Sea

These days are yours to enjoy the luxurious amenities in your suite, or the spacious gathering spaces along with your fellow travelers.

Day 13-14: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio — the Cidade Maravilhosa (“Marvelous City”)—is undoubtedly one of the world’s most impressive metropolises. Take the cable car to the top of Sugarloaf Peak, and enjoy breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding bay. Board the funicular up Corcovado Peak, crowned by the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer. The ride leads through the beautiful Parque Nacional de Tijuca, a lush tropical forest with numerous species of flowers, trees, and birds.

Day 15: Paraty

Explore this historic and culturally rich town with its charming boutiques and art galleries; its splendid waterfront, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; and its centuries-old churches. Enjoy time strolling the cobblestone streets in the historic district.

Day 16: Santos / Sao Paulo

Discover dynamic São Paulo’s historic buildings, and contemporary architecture. Enjoy free time on the famous Avenida Paulista, exploring elegant cafes and boutiques. Alternatively, spend the day in Guaruja and Santos. In Guaruja, visit the most famous beaches on the coast of São Paulo State. In Santos, Brazil’s most important port, visit the Orchid Garden, a coffee exchange, and a 200- year-old historical church.

Day 17-18: At Sea

Another couple of days to enjoy the slower pace of life aboard your luxurious vessel.

Day 19: Montevideo, Uruguay

Call at Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital, a city of surprising diversity considering its small population. A tour of the city concentrates on the historic port town, a rich combination of Art Deco, Italian, and colonial Spanish architecture.

Day 20-21: At Sea

Watch for wildlife while your ship cruises towards Patagonia.

Day 22: Puerto Madryn and the Valdes Peninsula, Argentina

Call at Puerto Madryn for an excursion to the Valdés Peninsula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its unique marine wildlife including the southern right whale, sea lions, and southern elephant seals.

Day 23-24: At Sea

Two more days await your leisure. Enjoy time spent with your new found friends, pampering in the salon, walking the decks of the luxurious vessel and more.

Day 25: Ushuaia, Argentina

Arrive in Ushuaia, the world’s southernmost town, and explore Tierra del Fuego National Park. This splendid wilderness is celebrated for its beauty. Ride to Ensenada Bay and view Redonda and Estorbo Islands. Continue to Lake Roca, the Green and Black Lagoon, and Lapataia Bay.

Day 26: Disembark in Ushuaia

Disembark in Ushuaia and transfer to the airport for return flights.
