Highlights
Journey into one of the world's largest flooded forests, Pacaya Samiria
Discover the immense biodiversity of the area
Visit the native San Francisco Village, meeting school children & teachers
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Arrive in Iquitos and transfer by bus to Nauta, where the Delfin is docked. Board the Delfin and explore the ship before happy hour. Attend dinner in the dining room and, when finished, join your guides on the top observation deck to learn about your journey.
In the morning, join your guides for exploration by skiff and a jungle trail walk. Take a hike through the unique, flooded ecosystem and observe the canopy trees and buttress roots of the forest.
After lunch, visit an Amazonas Village. The village of 500 people, although not very many miles from the bigger town of Nauta in miles, is still quite removed when you have to go by canoe from place to place. On your visit to this community, you will be welcomed by smiling faces and friendly people. Around the community, people who are happy to show you the process of peeling and grating cassava, while another may invite you in for a look at the tools he uses to process the rice (grown locally). A day in the life of a local ribereño is eye-opening to how far we have come in this day and age and a reflection of how simple yet rewarding life is for others.
In the morning, take a catamaran journey and arrive at the only canopy walkway in the area. The walkway provides spectacular views of the Amazon's wildlife and vegetation. Canoe through to Tawampa Lake and hope to see the giant arapaima, the largest freshwater fish in the world.
Eat lunch on board before arriving at Yamayacu Pucate. This is one of the best preserved and protected zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Your guide will use his expert eye to pinpoint all the biodiversity of this region. If you want to interact directly with the waters of the Amazon, go out on one of our paddle boards. You will even have the opportunity to swim in the jungle river along with the famous pink dolphins!

The info on the website was laid out very well. I did some comparisons with other tours and found Adventure Life met a lot of what I wanted in an Antarctica trip at the cheapest price. Requested a quote on Claudia contacted me right away. She answered a lot of questions the I had via email even though she offered to discuss via phone call. I’m more of an email person so appreciated how she accommodated that and answered all my questions. And when I was ready to book, she quickly got the ball rolling with getting our spots reserved on the trip my friend and I wanted. Thanks again, Claudia!

(1) great information on the website and throughout all the "materials." (2) Jane Packer is great: knowledgeable, responsive, takes a personal interest and tone, seems to care about the customer as a person not a sale.

For our first trip to Costa Rica, Adventure Life designed a tour that meets the interests, ecological and adventure, of our party; but also takes into account our physical limitations sine we are all septuagenarian. We are looking forward to the trip.
