Private Independent Travel

Explore the Southern Islands on your Galapagos tour! Visit a variety of locations and connect with the locals: sea lions, blue-footed boobies, turtles, and much more.

Day 1

    San Cristobal - Lobos

Arrive at the airport and transfer to the Galaxy for your Galapagos Cruise.

In the afternoon, sail for Isla Lobos (Sea Lion Island) to view the sea lions which rest on the island's rocky shore. The island is popular with blue-footed boobies, great frigate-birds, brown pelicans, lava gulls, common noddies, yellow warblers and small and medium ground finches, making it an ideal location for birders. Snorkel in the clear water and play with the sea lions in the shallows.

    Day 2

      Espanola

Journey to Suarez Point, one of the most significantly wild-life rich locations in the Galapagos archipelago. View marine iguanas and over-sized lava lizards as they sun themselves on the rocks.

In the afternoon, travel to Gardner Bay to snorkel with a variety of fish and the occasional turtle and shark.

      Day 3

        Floreana

In the morning, visit Baroness’ Observatory for exceptional views of La Loberia. Learn the history of the island while exploring the lookout.

Sail for Post Office Bay, a white-sand beach where past whalers used to leave and receive their letters in a barrel. Take part in the tradition, yourself, by leaving an addressed postcard in the barrel and pick up any within close proximity to your home to deliver.

        Day 4

Santa Fe - South Plaza Island

Arrive at Santa Fe to view the Opuntia cactus forest, the largest of the archipelago. Watch marine iguanas and lava lizards or snorkel in the warm waters of the island.

At South Plaza, experience one of the largest populations of land iguanas in the Galapagos islands. Take a rocky trail which circumnavigates the island for spectacular views and varied vegetation.

          Day 5

Santa Cruz Island - Charles Darwin Center - Baltra

Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to learn about the natural history of the islands and the effects of human involvement. See the tortoise breeding and rearing project at work.

In the afternoon, transfer to the Baltra airport to connect with your flights back to the mainland.
