Day 1: Baltra | Embark | Santa Cruz Island

Arrive at the Baltra airport and transfer to the Isabela II. Attend a short briefing and familiarize yourself with the boat and the islands.

Begin your Galapagos tour by visiting the Charles Darwin Research Station. This international non-profit organization provides scientific research and technical information to further Galapagos conservation. Learn about the natural history and issues concerning the islands and see the giant tortoises in their corrals.

Day 2: Santa Fe | South Plaza Island

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
In the afternoon, travel to Santa Fe, a volcanic uplift which houses a forest of Opuntia cactus. The weathered cliffs of the island provide sea birds with safe nesting grounds and land iguanas are seen resting on the rocks. Swim with sea lions in a picturesque turquoise lagoon.

After lunch, sail for South Plaza to view one of the largest populations of land iguanas in the Galápagos. Take a trail which circumnavigates the island to see the unique combination of dry and coastal vegetation zones.

Day 3: North Seymour | Santa Cruz Island

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Begin your morning by taking a short trail which crosses inland North Seymour Island. This hike takes you through colonies of blue-footed boobies and magnificent frigatebirds and offers views of Daphne Major and Minor in the distance. Body surf with sea lions close to the shore.

In the afternoon, set sail for Santa Cruz and land on Bachas Beach and go swimming. View the floating pier which was left by American soldiers during World War II.

Day 4: Bartolome | Santiago

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Sail for Bartolome to view the famous Pinnacle Rock and White Sand Beach. Enjoy some superb snorkeling around Pinnacle Rock where penguins are usually seen. From the highest point on the island, encounter different volcanic formations, including spatter and tuff cones, lava flow, and lava tubes on your way up. At the summit there is a wonderful view of Sullivan Bay. There are opportunities to see sea lions, pioneer plants, reef sharks, rays, and colorful reef fish while touring the island.
