Day 1 Embark in Nice, France
Day 2 Portoferraio (Italy)
The island of elba is at the heart of the Tuscan Archipelago and presents a finely chiselled profile sheltering many unspoiled coves. roman churches, Medicean fortresses and memories of Napoleon blend into the picture postcard that is Portoferraio (Italy). It is one of the oldest towns on the island, the Ligurians, Etruscans and Greeks having shaped its history before it became a Roman colony. Here you can follow in the footsteps of Napoleon as you wind your way through the pastel-coloured houses protected by the two Medicean forts.
Your golf course: Acquabona Golf Club – at leisure - 9 holes – par 34 (men, ladies). Golfers will have an opportunity to test their skills at this course close to Portoferraio in hilly countryside bordered by eucalyptus trees.
Day 3 Viareggio (Italy)
A pleasant seaside resort in Tuscany, Viareggio is our gateway to the architectural wonders and Gothic palaces of Pisa and Lucca. In the heart of Tuscany art lovers will not want to miss a visit to Florence. Reclining in a natural hollow among gently rolling hills Florence has been the inspiration for many famous painters, sculptors and poets. No other Italian city played such a dominant role in the Renaissance Movement, and the elegant beauty of its buildings never fails to seduce.
Day 4 Civitavechhia (Italy)
Port of call for Italy’s capital, Civitavecchia is our gateway to “the Eternal City” of Rome. Having dominated the “Western World” for so long, this ancient metropolis harbors a thousand and one testimonies to its rich past. Over 400 churches, 300 fountains and countless ruins have become so much a part of the myth and mystery surrounding the great Italian city.
Day 5 Porto Rotondo (Italy)
Port details pending.
Day 6 Bonifacio (Corsica-France)
Perched precariously on a high rocky promontory, Bonifacio occupies a very special place in the Corsican landscape, particularly when viewed from the sea. A fortress city atop white limestone and granite cliffs that have been sculpted by wind and waves, Bonifacio’s historic medieval heart of tall, narrow houses and winding cobblestone
streets is protected by an impressive citadel wall embellished with square towers: a beautiful sight.
Your golf course: Sperone Golf Club -18 holes – 2nd round of competition – par 72 (men, ladies). Located directly opposite the Lavezzi Islands, the Sperone course is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world: a “must” for the dedicated golfer.
Day 7 Calvi (Corsica-France)
From the moment you arrive, Calvi’s Genoese Citadel seems to beckon you to the top of its ramparts. A jewel of Balagne, this “citadel city” is impressively beautiful. Stretching from Calvi to L’Ile Rousse, the coastline is renowned for its picturesque villages and their narrow cobbled streets. An opportunity to explore Corsica’s “maquis” and its magnificent unspoiled countryside – still intact!
Day 8 Cannes (France)
Capital of cinema, Cannes is perceived as a glamorous star-spangled town although its history can be traced back to before the Ligurians. For centuries it was a modest fishing village, and it was only later that the English and European aristocracy arrived to build their magnificent residences.
Your golf course: Mougins Golf Country Club - at leisure - 18 holes - par 72 (men, ladies). It is still the region’s most prestigious and elite clubs. The Golf Club is tucked away in the heart of the beautiful Valmasque Forest in a wooded and protected environment, giving it a unique cachet on the Côte d’Azur. The course is superb in this gently undulating landscape, and is traversed by a river andnumerous water obstacles. A great golfing rendez-vous!
