Day 2: Porto Venere, Itlay
Portovenere (or Porto Venere) is a town located on the Ligurian coast of Italy in the province of La Spezia. It comprises the three villages of Fezzano, Le Grazie and Portovenere, and the three islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto. In 1997, Portovenere and the villages of Cinque Terre were designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Sites.
Join an optional excursion to discover the Cinque Terre castles - Monterosso, Cernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. See them just as ancient mariners once did, from the sea. On a guided tour, visit the village of Vernazza and then Monterosso where you can explore the town's medieval center.
Day 3: Portoferraio-Elba, Italy
You have reached an island without borders; one where blue sea, lush green countryside, perched villages, archaeological treasures and chestnut trees seem to succeed one another into eternity. Follow in the footsteps of Napoleon as you wind your way through the pastel-colored houses of this pretty town which is protected by two forts built by the Medicis.
Day 4: Gaeta, Italy
Port details pending.
Day 5: Capri, Italy
Capri is an Italian island off the Sorrentine Peninsula on the south side of the Gulf of Naples. It has been a resort destination since the time of the Roman Republic. The etymology of the name Capri can be traced back to the Greeks, the first recorded colonists to populate the island. Augustus's successor Tiberius built a series of villas at Capri, the most famous of which is the Villa Jovis, one of the best preserved Roman villas in Italy. Nowadays, Capri is a tourist destination for both Italians and foreigners. In the 1950s, the island became a popular destination for the international jet set. The central piazzetta of Capri, though preserving its modest village architecture, is lined with luxury boutiques and nice restaurants. Impressive features of the island include the Marina Piccola, the Belvedere of Tragara, the limestone masses called Sea Stacks that stand out of the sea, Anacapri, the Blue Grotto, and the ruins of the Imperial Roman villas.
Day 6: Amalfi, Italy
Amalfi, a former maritime and medieval power, was already the Riviera at the time of the Roman Empire. So much beauty in one place, Amalfi and its coastline have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Artists and travelers alike have fallen under the spell of Amalfi and Ravello that lie under the watchful gaze of Vesuvius.
Day 8: Naples, Italy
Naples is the jewel of the Campania region and is home to magnificent ancient palaces, sumptuous baroque churches and countless romantic palaces. The unrivaled historical, artistic and cultural riches of its old quarter earned it UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1995. Not far from here, the ruins of Pompeii offer a grandiose and moving vision of what a Roman city would have looked like during the Empire. The city slumbering under its blanket of ash has revealed its objects, homes and in particular its painted pastel frescoes that are almost totally intact. The beauty of the site has seen it added to the UNESCO World Heritage list.

We are so glad that we chose Adventure Life. The service is top-notch. Everything is well taken care of and we just have to print the documents and go. Franny even gave us timely updates on possible airport strike.

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
