Day 1: Baltra | Santa Cruz Island

Arrive at the Baltra airport and transfer to the boat. After settling in enjoy a visit to the Charles Darwin Station, where you can observe tortoise research and breeding programs. Scientists, park rangers, and park managers, among others, work to conserve the islands and maintain its integrity as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 2: Genovesa

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Discover El Barranco, also known as Prince Phillip's Steps. Hike up the steep rocky face to the top of a cliff where you can see red-footed boobies, short-eared lava owls, Galapagos swallows, and Galapagos Doves.

Continue on the white-sand coral beach of Darwin Bay. Set out on foot through the mangroves and view Nazca boobies, red-footed boobies, and swallow-tailed gulls. Tidal pools are teeming with young sea lions and reef fish, and the occasional hammerhead shark can be found among the rocks.

Day 3: Rabida | Chinese Hat

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The first stop for the day is at one of the most recognizable islands in the Galapagos, with its gently sloping cone rising out of the clear water below. Located just off Rabida Island is one of the most colorful and volcanically varied islands in the archipelago and a great snorkeling site. Its famous maroon sandy beach and stunning lookouts provide wonderful landscapes. The island is a birdwatcher’s delight. Some of the rarest species are in abundance, such as nine varieties of finches, large-billed flycatchers, Galapagos hawks, and brown pelicans.

Journey to Mosquera Islet, a reef of rocks and coral. This islet houses one of the largest populations of sea lions and many sea birds make their nests along the rocky shore.

Day 4: San Cristobal | Leon Dormido

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Explore Cerro Brujo (Wizard Hill), a collapsed volcano with white-sand beaches just north of Kicker Rock. It is home to sea lions, blue footed boobies, marine iguanas, brown pelicans, Sally Lightfoot crabs, sea turtles, and rays.

Then sail to Lobos Island - the name of this island means "Sea Lion Island." This appropriately-named island is ripe with noisy, frolicking, jolly sea lions who welcome you to their home with open, well, fins. This island also offers great snorkeling opportunities as well as the chance to see blue-footed and Nazca boobies.

Day 5: San Cristobal | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
Stop at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, which is also the capital of the province Galapagos. Enjoy a visit to the Interpretation Center which was recently opened by the Galapagos National Park. This is an amazing educational and informational contribution to the island community and travelers. Continue from the center to the airport for your return flights home.

The trip was terrific with great planning on your part. Most of the adventures were not mainstream and somewhat off the beaten path which made it especially enjoyable!! We felt taken care of and you all were readily available to respond to questions and issues.
