This 6 Day Western Islands Galapagos cruise on the ship, Millennium, explores the wildlife-rich shores of Isabela, Fernandina, Santiago and more!

Day 1

Baltra - Santa Cruz Island - Highlands

Arrive at the airport and transfer to the Millennium.

Journey to the Santa Cruz Highlands to experience the island’s variety of wildlife and geology. View the famous Galapagos tortoise and explore the many lava tubes, sinkholes and craters in the area.

    Day 2

In the morning, set sail for White Tipped Reef Shark Canal, named for the sharks which call the reef their home. View them as they rest in the shallows and then snorkel in the clear waters surrounding the reef.

After lunch, explore the Wall of Tears. This wall was built by prisoners of the penal colony which used to exist on Isabela, using large lava blocks for its construction. Take a set of stairs above the wall to view it in its entirety.

      Day 3

        Isabela - Fernandina

Travel to Punta Moreno and hike the trail which runs along a lava flow. The trail leads you to a series of coastal lagoons and mangroves.

Following lunch, sail for Elizabeth Bay, a marine visitor site with no landing point. Take a zodiac to visit the Marielas islets, the largest penguin colony in the Galapagos. Also view sea turtles, flightless cormorants, spotted eagle rays, golden rays, brown pelicans and sea lions.

        Day 4

          Fernandina - Isabela

In the morning, set sail for visit Espinoza Point on Fernandina Island, home of a variety of Galapagos marine iguanas.

After lunch, return to Isabela Island to visit Tagus Cove. Hope to catch a glimpse of the Galapagos Penguin and take a trail to the top of a cliff to view Darwin Lake, which is saltier than the ocean. As you explore, pay attention to the graffiti which covers the walls, as it has been written by pirates, whalers and buccaneers in past centuries.

          Day 5

            Santiago - Chinese Hat

Travel to Santiago Island and stop at Playa Espumilla, the site of an important Galapagos sea turtle nesting site. Snorkel in the clear waters off of the beach.

Following lunch, visit Puerto Egas to relax on its volcanic black sand beach.

In the afternoon, travel to Chinese Hat (Sombrero Chino) an island full of unique lava tubes and lava flows. The island was named for its unique lava shape and features wonderful snorkeling opportunities.

            Day 6

Santa Cruz Island - Black Turtle Cove - Baltra

Set sail for Black Turtle Cove to view black and whitetip reef sharks, sea turtles, golden cow-nose rays, spotted eagle rays, and the occasional hammerhead shark. The shallow inlet of Black Turtle Cove provides protection for juveniles of several species and is ideal for snorkeling.
