Explore the fascinating region of Patagonia on this 6-day land and sea tour. Roundtrip from Punta Arenas, this itinerary travels from King Penguin Park to Cape Horn, Aguila Glacier, and more.

Day 1

    Punta Arenas

Arrive in Punta Arenas and transfer from the airport to Hotel Cabo de Hornos. Stay the night.

    Day 2

Porvenir / King Penguin Park / Rio Grande

Cross the Strait of Magellan and visit the Porvenir Museum and King Penguin Park. Overnight at the Status Hotel Casino in Rio Grande.

      Day 3

        Gauchos / Ushuaia

Enjoy a traditional Gaucho experience with a Patagonian barbecue before arriving in Ushuaia. Check in and board the Stella Australis. Settle in to your room and attend a welcome dinner.

        Day 4

          Cape Horn / Wulaia Bay

Sail through Murray Channel and Nassau Bay to reach Cape Horn National Park. The mythical Cape Horn was discovered in 1616 and is a sheer 1,394-foot rocky promontory. For many years, it was an important navigation route for sailboats between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, and is often referred to as the 'End of the Earth.'

In the afternoon, go ashore at historical Wulaia Bay, originally the site of one of the region's largest Yamana aboriginal settlement. Charles Darwin landed in the bay in 1833 during his voyage on the HMS Beagle. The area is also renowned for the mesmerizing beauty of its vegetation and geography. Take a walk through Magellan forests of lengas, coigues, canelos, ferns, and other endemic vegetation.

          Day 5

De Agostini Sound and Aguila Glacier

Sail through the Brecknock, Ocasion, Cockburn, and Magdalena Channels to enter the spectacular De Agostini Sound. Located in the heard of the Darwin Mountain Range, view glaciers as they slind down the mountainsides on their way to the sea.

In the afternoon, board a well-equipped Zodiac and travel to the Aguila Glacier. At the glacier, explore Patagonia's beautiful, cold rainforest.

            Day 6

              Magdalena Island / Punta Arenas

Early in the morning, go ashore on Magdalena Island. The island used to be an essential source of supplies for navigators and explorers, and is inhabited by an immense colony of Magellan Penguins. Walk through the colony on your way to the lighthouse. In September and April, this excursion is replaced by Zodiac rides to Marta Island in order to observe South American Sea Lions.

Disembark in Punta Arenas around 11:30 AM.
