East Greenland Cruise

There are few places on Earth that can change human's perception of time, size, and their own place in the world. East Greenland is undoubtedly one of them. Explore the world's largest, and arguably most beautiful, fjord system of Scorsebysund on this 13-day voyage. Cruise by 'multi-story' icebergs of different shades of blue, and meet Inuit people as you get to know their unique culture at first hand.

Day 1

    Embark in Akureyri, Iceland

Akureyri, located at the back of a magnificent fjord, is the Capital of North Iceland. Arrive in Akureyri and embark the Sea Spirit in the afternoon. Settle in to your cabin and familiarize yourself with the ship and her crew.

    Day 2

      Sailing the Denmark Strait

As your ship cruises the Denmark Strait, spend your day relaxing on deck and taking in the magnificent Arctic beauty around you, or take advantage of the ship's numerous amenities as you prepare for your journey.

      Days 3-6

        Greenland National Park

The world's largest national park includes the entire northeastern part of Greenland. Your ship brings you to explore this vast area in numerous ways: by Zodiac as you cruise along the stunning coasts of Alepfjord, by foot walking across the flowered tundra at Holm Bay, and from above as you climb to the top of Ella Island to view one of the best vistas in the world. Keep a constant eye out for Arctic fox and musk oxen.

        Days 7-10

          Scorsebysund Fjord

During these four days explore the largest, and some say most beautiful, fjord system in the world: East Greenland's Scorsebysund. Remarkable for terrific mountain peaks, granite walls and one of the most impressive icebergs, Scorsebysund contains the most productive outlet glaciers draining east from the Greenland Ice Sheet.

Plan to visit the most northerly community in East Greenland – Itoqqortoormitt where you can meet Inuit people and get to know their unique culture first-hand.

          Days 11-12

            Sailing the Denmark Strait

Your final days on board the Sea Spirit are spent sailing through the Denmark Strait. You have ample time to reflect on the beauty and mystery of the Arctic. Share memories and photos with your fellow travelers as you journey homeward.

            Day 13

              Disembark in Akureyri, Iceland

Following breakfast, disembark the ship in Akureyri. From here transfer by bus to the center of Reykjavik to continue your travels.
