Private Independent Travel

Sail to the western islands aboard the Seaman Journey on a Galapagos cruise. This 8-day voyage explores the islands of Rabida, Santiago, Isabela and more, and gives travelers the chance to swim with sea lions, observe the famed giant Galapagos tortoise, and hike in mangroves.

Day 1

    Baltra - Santa Cruz Island

Arrive to the Galapagos and transfer to your ship. This afternoon, travel to Santa Cruz island and visit Los Gemelos (the twins), two volcanic craters in the Santa Cruz highlands, home to a variety of Galapagos birds such as the Galapagos Hawk. Also observe the giant Galapagos tortoise in its native habitat.

    Day 2

      Isabela

Explore the island of Isabela. In the morning we visit La Tintoreras, a group of small islands teeming with wildlife. Keep your eyes peed for white-tipped reef sharks!

This afternoon, visit the Wall of Tears, the site of a former penal colony. The Wall, built by prisoners, was formed by large volcanic rocks.

      Day 3

        Isabela

The day starts with exploring Isabela Island. This morning, we visit Punta Moreno where we can observe the unique Pahohoe lava.

This afternoon, travel to Elizabeth Bay where we take a panga (zodiac) ride through mangroves. Keep your eyes peeled for sea turtles, Flightless Cormorants and spotted eagle rays!

        Day 4

          Fernandina - Isabela

This morning, visit Espinoza Point on Fernandina Island, home of a variety of Galapagos marine iguanas.

Return to Isabela Island and visit Tagus Cove. Here, we have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Galapagos Penguin.

          Day 5

            Santiago

Today, travel to Santiago Island and stop at Playa Espumilla, the site of an important Galapagos sea turtle nesting site. This area has an amazing palo santo forest and an incredible beach that is an important site for nesting marine turtles.

This afternoon, visit Puerto Egas which is home to an amazing black sand beach. Volcanic tuff deposits have favored the formation of this special black sand beach and it is definitely an incredible site to see.

            Day 6

              Rábida - Chinese Hat

This morning, head to Rábida Island and its red sand beaches in search of flamingos, doves and mockingbirds.

This afternoon, travel to Chinese Hat (Sombrero Chino) an island full of unique lava tubes and lava flows.

              Day 7

                Santiago - Bartolomé

This morning, travel to Santiago Island and visit Sullivan Bay. Santiago is one of the still-active volcanic islands in the Galapagos.

This afternoon, travel to Bartolomé Island. It's high altitude provides us with spectacular views of its lava fields and lunar-like craters. Bartolomé is also home to sea turtles and the Galapagos Penguin,

                Day 8

                  Santa Cruz Island - Baltra

This morning, travel to Santa Cruz Island and stop at Bachas Beach, a nesting site for sea turtles.

This afternoon you are transferred to your ship for your flight back to mainland Ecuador.
