Start today in Darwin Bay, a birdwatcher's paradise! Watch for lava gulls, red footed-boobies, wandering tattlers, lava gulls, yellow warblers, whimbrels, and yellow-crowned, black-crowned and lava herons. That's just on the beach! Continuing on a trail encompassing the Bay, you may also find Galapagos doves, swallow-tailed gulls, large cactus and ground finches, and sharp-beaked finches. Upon reaching the end of the trail, enjoy a phenomenal view of the island and the many birds who live there.
In the afternoon, head to El Barranco, also known as Prince Philip's Steps. Here, climb to a plateau and look for masked boobies, red-footed boobies, storm petrels, and short-eared owls.
