Day 1: Baltra | Embark | Santa Cruz Island

Arrive in Baltra and transfer to the Yolita II. In the afternoon, head to the magnificent Santa Cruz Island to explore and relax on two soft, white, sandy beaches. You may also walk around a small lagoon and find flamingos and other coastal birds, such as whimbrels and black-necked stilts.

Day 2: Genovesa

Start today in Darwin Bay, a birdwatcher's paradise! Watch for lava gulls, red footed-boobies, wandering tattlers, lava gulls, yellow warblers, whimbrels, and yellow-crowned, black-crowned and lava herons. That's just on the beach! Continuing on a trail encompassing the Bay, you may also find Galapagos doves, swallow-tailed gulls, large cactus and ground finches, and sharp-beaked finches. Upon reaching the end of the trail, enjoy a phenomenal view of the island and the many birds who live there.

In the afternoon, head to El Barranco, also known as Prince Philip's Steps. Here, climb to a plateau and look for masked boobies, red-footed boobies, storm petrels, and short-eared owls.

Day 3: Bartolome | Santiago

Spend the morning on the breathtaking beaches of Bartolome Island. Explore the lava fields, lunar-like craters, volcanic cones, and the famous Toba formed pinnacle eroded by the sea. You may even find colonies of sea turtles and Galapagos penguins.

After lunch, head to Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island, where you may walk across different types of sun-baked lava and find a variety of igneous rock structures formed by varying rates of lava flow. A great geological excursion!

Day 4: Isabela

Begin your day with a visit to Sierra Negra Volcano on Isabela Island. Land in Puerto Villamil, then hike up to the rim of the volcano where you can take in a breathtaking view of volcanoes and the Perry Isthmus, a 12 km wide lava field. You may then hike to Chico Volcano to observe the amazing volcano formations.

In the afternoon, explore the wetlands and the Tortoise breeding center on Isabela. Navigate through the lagoons, swamps, and mangroves full of stunning migrant bird populations. Then head to the Arnaldo Tupiza breeding center to learn about giant tortoise protection efforts.

Day 5: Isabela

Start your morning with a zodiac ride around Elizabeth Bay. You may see the largest penguin colony in the Galapagos, as well as a magnificent red mangrove forest full of sea turtles, golden rays, spotted eagle rays, flightless cormorants, sea lions and many other species. You may even catch a glimpse of a Galapagos hawk!

Then, head to Tagus to hike and take in the beautiful view surrounding Darwin Lake.

Day 6: Isabela | Fernandina

This morning, find corals, shells, giant tortoises, and colorful land iguanas on Urbina Bay.

After lunch, sail to Punta Espinoza on Fernandina Island. Here you can view many species unique to the Galapagos, including the flightless comorant, marine iguanas, Galapagos penguins, and more!

Day 7: Santiago | Rabida

Begin today exploring Espumilla Beach on Santiago Island. Hike through the Palo Santo forest, take a walk on the beach, and snorkel in the beautiful waters.

In the afternoon, travel to the unique island of Rabida. Walk around the red sandy beach on your way to a coastal lagoon full of many different sea birds, flamingos, and sea lions. Rabida is also known for its excellent snorkeling.

Day 8: Daphne Island | Mosquera | North Seymour | Baltra

  • 1 Breakfast
End your journey on a high note with a trip around Daphne Island, a volcanic island full of many beautiful birds, including blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, short-eared owls, red-billed tropicbirds, and magnificent frigatebirds.

Then, transfer to Baltra and fly to either Guayaquil or Quito.
