Sail the beautiful blue waters of the British Virgin Islands on this 8-day Caribbean cruise. See the fascinating islands of the area, including St. Thomas, Tortola, and Virgin Gorda, so named by Christopher Columbus. Swim, snorkel, and kayak to your heart's content as you cruise along the archipelago.
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Arrive in St. Thomas and transfer to the Yorktown. Attend a welcome dinner and familiarize yourself with the ship and her crew. Overnight docked at the marina.
Day 2: Jost van Dyke / Sopers Hole, Tortola
In the morning, relax on board as you cruise towards the idyllic Jost Van Dyke. A base for seafarers, pirates, and adventurers for over 400 years, Jost Van Dyke is one of the favorite
islands of yachtsmen in the British Virgin Islands. Anchor at the magnificent White Bay, which is sheltered by a barrier reef and lined with a white-sand beach. Swim, kayak, and snorkel in the warm waters or hike the nearby green hills. In the afternoon, sail to Soper’s Hole, and anchor overnight.
Day 3: Tortola / Peter Island
Depart from Soper’s Hole early in the morning, and dock in Tortola’s Road Town, the capital of the British Virgin Islands. In 1648, Dutch buccaneers arrived on the island, becoming the first European settlers in the archipelago. Tortola’s terrain includes lush rain forest and
pristine white-sand beaches. Explore Sage Mountain National Park and hike through its rain forest. Mount Sage rises to more than 1,700 feet and is the highest point in the British Virgin
Islands. The views of the surrounding islands are superb. Explore quaint Road Town on your own or
enjoy swimming and snorkeling at one of the island’s stunning beaches. In the afternoon, cross to Peter Island, a small island which offers hiking paths and pristine beaches
for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking.
Day 4: Virgin Gorda
Arrive in Virgin Gorda, and land at the Leverick Bay Marina. Named “Fat Virgin” by Christopher Columbus when he arrived in 1493, the island
is one of the most beautiful in the British Virgin Islands. The island offers many sites for exploration, including The Baths, a geological curiosity where enormous granite boulders lay
scattered along the beach to form sea-filled grottoes and pools which are perfect for snorkeling and swimming; and Gorda Peak National
Park, a nature preserve where trails lead to the summit and offer spectacular vistas of the surrounding islands.
Day 5: Cooper / Norman Islands
Arrive on two of the “Out Islands,” a local
expression for the archipelago’s small and remote islands. Spend the morning at Cooper Island, which is virtually undeveloped. Drop anchor at sheltered Manchioneel Bay, which features a beautiful palm-lined beach. In the afternoon, call at Norman Island, reputed to be Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. The Yorktown will anchor at The Caves, an outstanding swimming
and snorkeling area, which features crystal-clear water, colorful corals, and other marine life.
Day 6: St. John
Anchor at St. John’s Cruz Bay, the island’s small, neat, and tidy main town. Explore the verdant and welcoming island, including the Virgin Islands National Park and miles of shoreline and reefs. The park is home to a variety
of flora and fauna and historic buildings and sites. Learn about the Taino, the ancient inhabitants of the island.
Day 7: St. Thomas
In the morning, drop anchor at St. Thomas and spend the day relaxing and exploring
Charlotte Amalie, the island’s capital. Join an optional excursion to the island's historic landmarks, including the Estate St. Peter Greathouse and Botanical Gardens.
Day 8: St. Thomas / Disembark
Disembark in the morning and transfer to the airport for your connecting flights home.

Everything was amazing! The planning with Adventure Life went smoothly. The actual trip was fantastic! One of the best trips I have experienced. The cruise staff members were knowledgeable and attentive. I will be writing more about this on the blog!

Adventure Life did an excellent job of planning, organizing and executing a great trip to Argentina. It was nice to have the trip with just the two of us which allowed for a more personable tour with excellent tour guides in all four locations visited. We learned lots of details of the beautiful sites in BA, Mendoza,Baliloche and Iguazu Falls. We want to do another trip with Adventure Life some day.

She has helped us with our trips to Chile Argentina and Costa Rica, and she always finds us wonderful activities and accommodations. We’re looking forward to seeing what she’s planning for us this time when we go to Easter island
