Change Your Life Forever! Share a South American Experience. Volunteer at an Orphanage in Quito with Betty Ann.

Last year I had made a decision that I needed to do something in my life that was just for me and would also make a difference. I spent two months in Quito. I was able to enjoy the sights of Quito and some of the surrounding towns. I even spent a week in the jungle with Adventure Life! For this 53 year-old woman I felt quite proud of myself that I could swing on a vine with the best of them.

The most fulfilling part of my time there was volunteering at an orphanage in Quito. There are approximately 85 children and 35 babies. These children need love and hugs. The beautiful smiles of these children running towards you yelling "hola hola" will warm your heart. You can bring something into their life, but what they give back to you will be so much greater!

This is not a strenuous program. You are free to help the children with homework, read stories, play with them, change diapers, help them with their wash, and take them for outings. It is a time to help relieve the nuns who care for them and to give the children some extra care and love. This is a very relaxed volunteer program with Betty Ann being your guide.

I am not fluent in Spanish (I am still trying to learn) so that is not a necessity. We can arrange for lessons at a reputable Spanish School if you desire.

· Pick up at the airport
· Double shared accommodations at a lovely hostel in a quiet neighborhood
· Transportation to and from the orphanage each day
· Welcome Dinner
· The opportunity to go shopping for the orphans with some of Funds donated to the orphanage.
· US$400 of the trip cost is donated directly to the orphanage during your stay.

While in Quito we can arrange for you to explore the Otavalo Market, visit the wonderful town of Baños, explore the Amazon, or experience Galapagos. These trips give you the opportunity to ride in the buses along with the locals and experience the sights, diversity and beauty of Ecuador.
