  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Today cruise toward Sulina, at the mouth of the Danube. In the beginning of the morning, arrive in Crisan and depart for an excursion on the Danube delta, a very important nature reserve and established as a Biosphere Reserve in 1998 by UNESCO. Walk on some of the many branches of the delta, through tropical vegetation (the northernmost tropical vegetation in Europe) and pass by a great variety of wildlife. Return on board and sail to Oltenita in the afternoon.

Day 3 Bucharest | Ruse

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
This morning join an excursion to Bucharest. The cultural and economic center of Romania, established 500 years ago. During the 1930s, Bucharest was nicknamed “Little Paris” because of its long tree-lined boulevards. Return on board in Ruse.

Day 4  Veliko Tarnovo | Arbanasi | Ruse

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Depart for a full-day excursion to Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanasi. Veliko Tarnovo, medieval capital of Bulgaria but also the capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire, was established in the heart of the country. The city has remained in the collective Bulgarian memory as the majestic and flourishing capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. In the afternoon, discover Arnabasi, one of the most visited villages in Bulgaria and now classified as an “Architectural and Historical Reserve”. Get back on the ship in Ruse and enjoy a folk evening on board.

Day 5 Ruse | Svistov

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Set off on an excursion to Ruse. The town has a surprising multi-ethnic character and is a cleverly constructed mix of Bulgarian and Romanian cultures. It is a beautiful town, with wide avenues, large squares and wonderful buildings following a style of "national Renaissance" architecture. Return on board in Svistov and spend the afternoon and night sailing.

Day 6 The Iron Gates

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Spend the day sailing through the narrow pass of the Iron Gates between the Carpathians and the Balkans - truly an amazing location. The most spectacular part of the pass used to be called “the Danube Boilers” by navigators and sailors because the water trapped between the steep mountainous walls seemed to bubble and boil. An equally striking but somewhat lighter landmark on the Serbian side of the river is the “Tabula Traiana” - an enormous Roman memorial plaque made of marble, erected to commemorate the completion of Trajan's military road, or “imperial route” that linked the province of Dacia to Rome. Pass through the “Small Boilers”. The rocky slopes come closer together, then suddenly, the mountain pass opens up, giving the impression of a lake between the mountains, at the spot where the Mracona Valley opens into the Danube. An elegant viaduct towers over the mouth of the river and we can see the “portrait” of the old Dacian King Decebalus carved into the rock face.

Day 7 Belgrade | Novi Sad

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Depart for a guided tour of Belgrade. Located at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers, the town has created its own cultural identity based on a mix of Austro-Hungarian, Ottoman and Slavic cultures. From the Fortress of Kalemegdan, enjoy spectacular views of the great river Danube and its tributary, the Sava. In the afternoon, join an excursion of Novi Sad. Located in the southern part of the Great Plain in the Baga region, Novi Sad is the multi-ethnic capital of Vojvodina. The lively and colorful little historic center of Novi Sad is absolutely charming. The visit continues to Krusedol monastery and the small town of Sremski Karlovci. Return on board in Novi Sad and cruise to Osijek.

Day 8 Osijek | Mohacs

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
This morning depart for an excursion to Osijek a beautiful Croatian city on the Danube, remarkable by its Baroque building and its Upper Town. Spend the afternoon sailing toward Mohacs. Pass through the customs in Mohacs, and cruise to Budapest. Get back on board for your gala evening.

Day 9 Budapest | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before you disembark in the morning.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
