Your guide brings you inside the Cathedral to visit the tomb of Saint James. Enjoy leisure time to walk along the historical streets before meeting your guide for lunch at the Hotel of the Reyes Catolicos. Day 5: Scilly Islands, United Kingdom

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Today's first optional excursion takes you on a marine safari boat trip to look for wildlife and see spectacular scenery. Board the rib (Rigid Inflatable Boat) and speed around the Isles of Scilly in search of gray atlantic seals and seabird colonies. Or, you may choose to visit the lovely island of Tresco and tour of the most remarkable gardens in the world, the glorious Tresco Abbey Gardens. These gardens contain 20,000 exotic plants, which flourish in the warm Gulf Stream climate, and were created nearly 170 years ago by Augustus Smith around the remains of the 12th Century St Nicholas Priory.

A third optional excursion includes a walking tour of St. Mary's Island, the largest of the Isles of Scilly. The walk to the Garrison, offering lovely views of the other islands, was voted the best coastal walk in Britain in a “Times” survey in 2010. The Garrison is deemed to be of national importance and dates back to Elizabethan times and on through the Civil War years (it became the last Royalist stronghold), and the Spanish Wars of the 18th century.

Day 6: Cobh | Cork, Ireland

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Opt to explore the city of Cork, departing from the pier and explore this shopping and commercial capital of the south. It is a University City with a unique character, a city of Jazz, Film, Opera and Theater. Visit St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral, designed by William Burges and consecrated in 1870. The Cathedral lies on a site where Christian worship has been offered since the seventh century. The school founded by St. Finbarr continued to be listed among the five principal monastic schools of Ireland through to the 10th century. The communion vessels, still in use, include a silver gilt chalice of 1536 and a silver chalice and patens made by the Cork Huguenot goldsmith Robert Goble in 1712. Next explore the city center, strolling through the Huguenot quarter.

Or you may enjoy a visit to the Blarney Castle to kiss the famous Blarney stone which, legend tells us, imparts the gift of eloquence to all those who kiss it. Blarney is also home to Blarney Woollen Mills, which dates back to 1793, and is now one of the finest craft and gift centers in Ireland. Enjoy an Irish coffee and browse through the wide range of Irish clothing, crystal, linen and handicrafts. Enjoy lunch in the sailing town of Kinsale before touring Cork.

A third excursion is to the Old Jameson Distillery at the heart of the cherished whiskey-making tradition. Join a 60-minute guided tour of this beautifully restored 18th century self-contained industrial complex, unique in Britain and Ireland. Delight in the fully operational water wheel and be amazed by the copper pot still of 32,000 gallons which is the largest in the world. Relax in the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub and sample Ireland’s finest whiskey.

Day 7-8: Dublin, Ireland | Disembark

  • Ship
  • 2 Breakfasts, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Join an optional excursion to explore the monastic ruins of Glendalough, or the Glen of two lakes. This is one of the most important ruin sites in Ireland. Fourteen centuries have passed since the death of its founder, St. Kevin, when the valley was part of Ireland's Golden Age. Enjoy a guided tour of this historic site, one of Europe's finest examples of Round Tower architecture, before returning to Dublin via coach.

You may also view the world famous Book of Kells, a hand-illuminated manuscript of the Gospels, in the Old Parliament House, now the Bank of Ireland and Trinity College. Founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth, it is Ireland’s oldest college. Next visit St. Patrick's Cathedral, founded in 1190. St. Patrick’s is perhaps best known for its association with Jonathan Swift, who was Dean here from 1713 to 1745. The pulpit from which he preached is present still in the Cathedral.

Or, an optional excursion brings you to the Abbey Tavern, nestled against the ancient ruins of Howth Abbey, where you can feast on a typical Irish dinner and watch the world famous Abbey Tavern singers. dancers, and musicians. Experience the old-world charm, authenticity, and simplicity of old Ireland.

A final option is to discover Christchurch Cathedral, one of Dublin's most famous monuments dating back to 1038. The cathedral has resisted the trials and tribulations of time and history. The building underwent extensive restoration work in the Victorian era and is an active religious center. Next visit Dublin Castle, which played an important role from the Middle Ages up until 1922 as it was the residence of representatives of the British monarchy. Today it is the theater of official ceremonies such as the investiture of the President of the Republic. It was here that the 1998 peace agreements with Northern Ireland were signed.

Disembark Le Boreal on the morning of day 8 in Dublin.
