SnowHotel offers its guests an overnight stay that includes a guided tour of SnowHotel, private room featuring beds covered with lamb skin and arctic level sleeping bags with fleece liners, shower and toilet facilities, wake-up with hot drink served in your room, breakfast in the Lumikartano Restaurant, and a certificate of achievement celebrating your overnight stay in arctic conditions inside walls made of snow and ice.
SnowHotel has shared toilet and shower facilities in the adjacent main building, Lumikartano. The hotel accommodation includes visits to the sauna.
The SnowHotel also has an Aurora Alarm, to gently wake up guests to admire the wondrous Northern Lights. SnowHotel guests need to order the service separately from the hotel reception. The Aurora Alarm service is included in the accommodation rate, but must be requested when checking in.
For another unique experience there is the adjacent Glass Igloos. provide you the opportunity to sleep beneath the starry skies and increases your chance of catching the Northern Lights. The glass igloos are located on the same property as the SnowHotel, on the shores of the Lehtojärvi Lake. There are two different sizes of glass igloo to choose from, depending whether you are travelling as a family or couple.
Glass igloo for two persons (approximately 20 square metres)
Glass igloo for four persons (approximately 33 square metres)
Each igloo is extremely well insulated to ensure guests are not bothered by the cold in even the coldest of times at night. The roof of the igloo is made from electrically heated glass, which means the glass will not cool the space; rather it maintains evenly distributed warmth while melting all the snow and ice off the roof maintaining an excellent view to the sky. In addition, the igloo has radiant floor heating.
The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
