Meet up in Lyon at 4:00 p.m. in front of the Brasserie Georges for your departure by coach towards Chalon-sur-Saône. Passengers are welcome to board the ship at 5:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, you will be introduced to the crew at a welcome cocktail.
*Passengers will choose either the Classic or Discovery package to participate in for the duration of the voyage.
Enjoy some free time on your own in the heart of Mâcon. Afterwards, join the excursion for both packages: Tour of the Beaujolais vineyards. Tonight, join the cruise through Lyon by night to admire the city lights.
Classic: Panoramic tour of Lyon and discover its famous "traboules", types of passageways that are typical of the city.
Discovery: Bike ride through the main monuments and districts of Lyon. Finish up your tour with a tasting of local products in the heart of the old town.
Spend the afternoon cruising towards Tain-l'Hermitage, arriving in the evening.
Continue cruising this morning. Discover the Pont d'Arc Cavern, a replica of the famous Chauvet Cave (only available through pre-reservation with your travel agency before your departure). Start cruising to Avignon.
Join aguided tour of Avignon and the Papal Palace. Depart for Arles. Enjoy some free time in the old section of this highly cultural city, enriched with vestiges of the Roman Empire.
Classic: Discover the Camargue. Visit a "manade" (horse breeding farm) and learn about how a manadier works with the animals.
Discovery: Safari in jeeps through the Camargue for an original immersion in the wilderness.
Continue cruising towards Martigues. Tonight is your gala dinner and evening.

Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking in Martigues at 9:00 a.m. Coach transfer back to Lyon, stopping for lunch along the way. Arrive in Lyon early in the afternoon.

Adventure Life has been an extraordinary travel resource for us over the years and today was no exception. Our River Cruise booking was handled by Jess (who has been our personal trip planner for several years) the same day as our inquiry. Suggestions were given for cabin choice and pre-trip options (that were not shown on the cruise line's website) like airport transfers and prepaid gratuities. Trip insurance recommendations followed and we were assigned a travel co-ordinator till the end of the tour. All we have to do is show up! Great service from friendly folks.

Our travel was flawless! The rider pickup (airport, hotel, ship) was seamless. Jane's recommendation for Emerald Cruise Sakara was everything I wanted but the experience was soooo much more. Adventure Life took care of each and every detail and this was the easiest of all my travels.
