Highlights
Visit El Chato to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Arrive in Baltra and your bilingual naturalist guide greets you at the airport. Santa Cruz Island is home to Puerto Ayora where you can shop around. Explore the upper region of the island and learn about the plants and animals. This area is called El Chato which is a giant tortoise reserve and one of the few places open to visitors where giant tortoises are found in their natural habitat interacting with the rest of the Galapagos life.
Day 2: Floreana
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Visit Punta Cormorant and follow a path to a flamingo lagoon. On your way pass by Carolina Beach, a sea turtle nesting area with countless sea birds and sea rays.
Next, stop at the Devil's Crown, a sub-marine crater that offers some of the most spectacular snorkeling in the Galapagos. This is a great spot for seeing a wide array of tropical fish and white-tipped sharks.
After lunch sail to Post Office Bay, the island's original post office which is really just a wooden barrel! Drop off unstamped letters and postcards and pick up whatever mail you can hand deliver when you return home.
Day 3: Espanola
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Take a dingy to the shore of Espanola and watch sea lion pups sunbathing with marine iguanas. Also see blue-footed boobies and the Galapagos hawk. Depending on the season, you may be able to witness the blue-footed booby mating dance.
As you walk along the island's path, pass hundreds of blue-footed booby nesting sites and one colony of masked boobies. There is also a good chance you see the frigatebird, the red-billed tropic bird, and the swallow-tailed gull. Pass El Soplador, a giant blowhole that explodes to heights of 25 feet. You may also see sea lions lounging in the nearby tide pools.
After lunch visit Gardner Bay, a perfect place to relax, swim and snorkel near lionfish, flycatchers, and Galapagos hawks.
Day 4: San Cristobal | Disembark
1 Breakfast
Arrive at San Cristobal, the captial city of the Galapagos. The first site is Kicker Rock, a tuff volcanic cone that has been eroded by the wind and marine currents making it look like a sleeping lion. This site is home to blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, and many others.
After navigating around Kicker Rock, continue on to the Interpretation center in Puerto Baquerizo. Your guide explains the formation of the islands and how the flora and fauna arrived. Visit the corrals where there are several species of giant tortoises under the care of the National Park Service.
Fly back to the mainland.

Kate was great to work with in the planning stage. She was prompt, helpful, and efficient. Our tour guide, Edwin, was knowledgeable and passionate. We were very happy to have traveled with Adventure Life, it made the trip easy and a true pleasure. We could concentrate on enjoying the experience rather than the details of travel.

Kelly and Rhenee were excellent to work with on planning our trip. The logistics all worked smoothly and everyone was friendly and on time. Our accommodations were very good, particularly the incredible Patagonia Camp in Torres del Paine! Our guides on every excursion were outstanding and made the hikes memorable! Overall we had a wonderful trip with incredible memories!

Adventure Life is definitely a first-class safari tour company, and our representative was Franny Friesz. First of all, she responded immediately after we contacted Adventure Life. We told Franny that we had never been on a safari, and she was more than eager to offer a mountain of information about the trip. She informed us fully about all the ups, downs, and all arounds! She even prepared a number of packages for us to review -- even after we made changes to the areas we wanted to explore. Friendly, helpful, professional, and extremely knowledgeable -- these words describe Franny, and what a wonderful trip she prepared! We couldn't have asked for better service than Franny of Adventure Life. We HIGHLY recommend her and her outstanding company! Bon Voyage!

The staff at Adventure Life made planning my family's trip to the Galapagos Islands as easy as possible. They listened to what we were hoping to experience and made thoughtful suggestions about how to accomplish our vacation goals while meeting the needs of travelers ages 17-76! They patiently answered questions and follow up questions in the months leading up to the trip. They helped us trouble shoot and customize the trip in every way possible. The logistics involved in traveling from Boston to the Galapagos are innumerable. The Adventure Life staff helped us arrange every detail and the team they assembled in the Galapagos was tremendous. I have never done a trip this big before and after working with Adventure Life this time--would not hesitate one second in working with them again.

The info on the website was laid out very well. I did some comparisons with other tours and found Adventure Life met a lot of what I wanted in an Antarctica trip at the cheapest price. Requested a quote on Claudia contacted me right away. She answered a lot of questions the I had via email even though she offered to discuss via phone call. I’m more of an email person so appreciated how she accommodated that and answered all my questions. And when I was ready to book, she quickly got the ball rolling with getting our spots reserved on the trip my friend and I wanted. Thanks again, Claudia!
