Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Arrive at the airport and be escorted to the boat for check-in, a short briefing, and then lunch. After this the first excursion to Sombrero Chino begins. This is a small islet near the southeastern coast of Santiago Island. In English, Sombrero Chino translates to 'Chinese Hat' which is represented by the unique shape of the island. This is a great island for seeing unique geological formations as well as an abundance of various marine species including the colorful Sally Lightfoot Crab and sea lions. Keep an eye out for the many species of Darwin's finches as well.
Day 2: Santa Cruz Island | Rabida
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Cerro Dragon was named after the large population of land iguanas that were found there in 1975. Behind the beach hike to a saltwater lagoon that is frequented by an abundance of stilts, pintail ducks, and sometimes flamingos. Take a short walk further to see the nesting site for the land iguana. Also enjoy a breathtaking view of the bay. Enjoy some swimming before heading to Rabida Island for some more beach activities, snorkeling, and kayaking. Rabida is covered in red volcanic rocks and has a beautiful and unique red sand beach. This is a great area to hang out with sea lions and view pelican nesting sites.
Day 3: Isabela
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Isabela Island is the largest of the archipelago, formed by five volcanoes. It's also the youngest of the islands. Puerto Villamil is a friendly port and is your home-base during a diverse and exciting day where choices for adventure and relaxation abound. Visit the Tortoise Breeding Center where visitors and locals are educated on the importance of the giant tortoise. This is also a facility that helps protect the giant tortoise in its first years. Located south of Isabela Island are the wetlands which consist of lagoons, swamps, and mangroves. This is an excellent location for viewing various bird species.
Day 4: Floreana
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Travel to Floreana to visit Post Office Bay, where a wooden barrel was placed by 18th-century whalers as an unofficial post office. The tradition has continued to this day, and travelers can leave addressed postcards and sort through the barrel for postcards close to their homes. Then spend some time enjoying some relaxing snorkeling or kayaking around the island. If you are feeling adventurous, make a visit to the lava tunnel which has been kept untouched and completely natural. In the afternoon, set sail for Cormorant Point which features a large flamingo lagoon. The beach here is known as the 'Green Beach' due to its green color created by the high number of olivine crystals in the sand.
Day 5: San Cristobal | Lobos
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Cerro Brujo is an excellent place for enjoying the beach and snorkeling. This gorgeous beach is home to many playful sea lions. This is also the location where Charles Darwin first stepped in this archipelago. The next excursion is to the lovely Isla Lobos. Lobos in Spanish means 'wolves' and this island is named after a large colony of sea lions. Get up close and personal with these playful sea lions who love to swim with people when they are snorkeling. Other great sites to see are the amazing blue-footed boobies, frigates, and have the chance to see the fur sea lion as well.
Day 6: Santa Cruz Island | Disembark | Baltra
1 Breakfast
After breakfast, visit the highlands of Santa Cruz and see giant tortoises in their natural habitat. After this quick but informative visit, you are escorted to Baltra Airport for departure back to the mainland.

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.

The travel specialists we've worked with for 2 vacations have made the trip planning process easy! They ask good questions to ensure they understand our goals and likes and have done an excellent job matching adventures with our preferences - even suggesting things we would not have thought about on our own!

Jane Packer helped us through the cancellation of our trip due to American Queen Voyages bankruptcy and then finding another cruise with American Cruise Lines.

Adventure Life did an excellent job of planning, organizing and executing a great trip to Argentina. It was nice to have the trip with just the two of us which allowed for a more personable tour with excellent tour guides in all four locations visited. We learned lots of details of the beautiful sites in BA, Mendoza,Baliloche and Iguazu Falls. We want to do another trip with Adventure Life some day.
