Familiarize yourself with the Galapagos Islands on an introductory Galapagos cruise aboard the La Pinta. This 4-day voyage takes you to the islands of San Cristobal, Espanola, and Santa Cruz Island. Swim with playful sea lions, take coastal and inland hikes, and view the famous giant Galapagos tortoise.

Day 1

San Cristobal

Arrive at the San Cristobal airport and transfer to La Pinta.

Set sail for Cerro Brujo (Wizard’s Hill), one of the first sites visited by Charles Darwin during his exploration of the Galapagos. Cerro Brujo is a beautiful white-sand beach and is ideal for snorkeling. View brown pelicans, blue-footed boobies, sea lions, and marine iguanas.

Day 2

San Cristobal

Journey to La Galapaguera, a highlands information center and learn about the Galapagos tortoise breeding program. Larn about the origin of these unique tortoises, their evolution, and the threats they face from introduced animals.

In the afternoon, arrive at Pitt Point to view lava lizards and hope to see red-footed boobies, the least seen of the boobies.

Day 3

Espanola

In the morning, sail to Suárez Point, one of the most outstanding wildlife areas of the archipelago. Snorkel in the clear waters off the sand and pebble beaches and watch the lava lizards as they sun themselves on the rocks.

In the afternoon, travel to Gardner Bay where snorkelers can find lots of fish and the occasional turtles and sharks. Join in with a colony of playful sea lions as they swim enthusiastically around you.

Day 4

  • Breakfast

Santa Cruz Island - Baltra

Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, a non-profit organization which provides scientific research, technical information and assistance for the conservation of the Galapagos Islands. View giant tortoises in their corrals and reach out to interact with them.

Transfer to the Baltra airport for your connection to the mainland.
