Trip Snapshots

Darwin Finch The beautiful waters of the Galapagos This is where we are supposed to snorkel later! Travelers enjoying their Galapagos adventure near Punta Suarez, Espanola (Santa Cruz) Iguana

Day 1 San Cristobal

  • Ship
  • 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Our guide will be waiting for you in San Cristóbal Airport and will accompany you to the Archipell where you will check in and get general information. Lunch will be served and then starts the first excursion of the trip to the Galapaguera. This is located in the Northeast part of San Cristobal Island. It has been created to conserve the San Cristóbal tortoise species. The center has the goal to lead and guide the tourists in conservation topics and protection of the environment. There will be an opportunity to catch giant tortoises in their natural habitat.

Day 2 South Plaza Island - Santa Fe

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
South Plaza has unique Sesuvium plants and Opuntia cactuses scattered across the landscape which provide some of the most interesting wildlife observations available in Galapagos. Land iguanas are easily seen from the trail and can be caught hiding under the shade of a cactus. Santa Fe is one of the most entertaining destinations for shore excursions. There will be two trail choices for visitors here. Hike to the tallest Opuntia cactus in the Galapagos or go to the highlands where land iguanas can be found. Swim in calm waters or snorkel with whimsical sea lions.

Day 3 Floreana

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
A beautiful artisan spring is located at the Peace Asylum. This is one of the few year-round sources of fresh water, which made it attractive to pirates, whalers and later settlers to Floreana. The original settlers landed at La Cueva de los Piratas (Pirate's Cave) which is a location where pirates carved temporary shelters out of soft stone. The small beach of La Loberia is home to a colony of sea lions, as well as marine iguanas. Walk there from town for some recreational snorkeling. Fortunate snorkelers may spot a ray or a shark.

Day 4 Santa Cruz Island - Charles Darwin Center

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Charles Darwin Research Station contains an information center, a museum, a library and a tortoise breeding station. Encounter tortoises of different subspecies. Here these tortoises are prepared for reintroduction to their natural habitats. The Highlands of Santa Cruz contain incredible zones of vegetation. Enjoy a visit to the private farm Las Primicias. This reserve offers one of the best possibilities to see the huge turtles of Santa Cruz Island at close range. At the end of the tour, you will return to Baltra’s airport to take the flight back to the continent.

Day 5-6 Isabela

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Isabela Island is the largest of the archipelago with a surface of 4588 square kilometers. It engages more than the half of the land area of whole Galápagos. Take an easy walk through the unique lava landscape with its huge colonies of sea lizard and sea lion colonies on the island of Tintoreras. Have a chance to observe white tip sharks resting in the flat water near the shore. The Humedales, or the wetlands, of this area are located south of Isabela Island. They have a wide variety of flora and fauna, as well as a spectacular scenery of the bay, the town of Puerto Villamil, volcanoes, islets and rocks.
Punta Moreno has a young volcanic landscape with numerous fresh-water pools and lagoons. This is a great habitat for flamingos, bahama ducks and other birds. Travel to the mangrove area of Elizabeth Bay with little off-shore islands where dwarf penguins make their home. Schools of manta rays, turtles and other giants of the ocean such as whale-sharks are also common. Take an excursion around Elizabeth Bay in a zodiac. Your zodiac ride starts with a visit to the Marielas islets which is home to the largest penguin colony in the Galapagos. Continue into the red mangrove covered cove where sea turtles, Flightless Cormorants, spotted eagle rays, golden rays, brown pelicans and sea lions run free.

Day 7 Isabela - Fernandina

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Take a tour along the cliffs of Tangus Cove in a zodiac to get a good chance at seeing the Galapagos penguin, the Flightless Cormorant and other sea birds. From the landing dock it is about a 30 minute hike along the trail up to the top of the cliff from where several volcanoes and the Darwin Lake can be viewed. This is an uplifted ultra saline lake saltier than the sea. Espinoza point is one of Fernandina’s visit points. This is situated within a fascinating lava scenery filled with Lava-Cacti and mangroves. Enjoy seeing sea lions, penguins, the Flightless Cormorant as well as one of the biggest iguana colonies of the Galapagos. Snorkel and explore this beautiful underwater world.

Day 8 Santa Cruz Island - Bachas Beach - North Seymour

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Las Bachas is a beautiful white-sand beach on the northern coast of Santa Cruz Island. Go for a stroll or do some easy snorkeling in the gentle surf. Sea turtles lay their eggs at the edge of the vegetation here. There is a rusted pontoon, a relic of the Second World War also at this location. Two barges were wrecked offshore at that time. There you will have lunch. North Seymour is located slightly in the north of Baltra. It is a low, flat island, formed as a result of submarine lava formation uplift. Covered with low, bushy vegetation, it contains the largest colony of magnificent frigatebirds in the Galapagos. There is also a large population of Blue-Footed Boobies that perform an amusing courtship dance when nesting conditions are right. It is in fact one of the highlights of this island.

Day 9 Genovesa

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Darwin Bay is the only sandy beach found in the caldera on Genovesa. Colonies of the Great Frigates are found along the beach and the males exhibit their red balloon pouch to females in hope of a match. Red-Footed Boobies nest in the trees while the other two booby species nest on the ground. El Barranco, also know as Prince Philip’s Steps, is a stair carved out of stone that will lead to a wide plateau. Observe large colonies of masked boobies, frigate birds, storm petrels and bahama ducks. During this easy walk, cross a little Scalesia woodland and observe the Short-eared Owl.

Day 10 Bartolome - Santiago

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
At Bartolomé Island admire the spectacular panorama of the Sullivan Bay and the famous Pinnacle Rock. The beaches at the foot of the Pinnacle Rock are excellent for snorkeling and discovering the magnificent underwater world. Take a trip to Sullivan Bay on the east coast of Santiago. Explore the white coral sand beach and begin walking over lava that flowed less than 100 years ago. This is the perfect place to see and feel the volcanic origin of Galapagos.

Day 11 Santa Cruz Island - Baltra

  • 1 Breakfast
Charles Darwin Research Station contains an information center, a museum, a library and a tortoise breeding station. Encounter tortoises of different subspecies. Here these tortoises are prepared for reintroduction to their natural habitats. This was the home of the world famous Lonesome George turtle. At the end of the tour, you will return to Baltra’s airport for your flight back to the continent.
