Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
This full day tour starts at 8:00 AM from the Casa Opuntia Hotel. You will be expertly led by an English speaking, Galapagos naturalist guide.
Start your day with a 40-minute round trip hike to the only permanent freshwater lake in the Galapagos. The walk provides superb views as well as an introduction to the highlands and its endemic plant species. The lake itself lies in an extinct volcanic crater and is home to gallinules, whitecheeked pintail ducks, and magnificent frigate birds. The lake’s freshwater is actually necessary for frigate birds’ survival on this island, as they must wash the salt from their feathers in order to remain light enough to fly. We then continue onto “La Galapaguera” a semi-natural breeding center for the amazing Galápagos
Tortoises. You can enjoy a 1 hour trail walk and see these fantastic animal at their natural environment. Afterwards, we will go towards Puerto Chino, a beach so beautiful it hardly looks real. We will take some time here to enjoy the divine waters and sands.
Return to Casa Opuntia Hotel at 4:00 PM.

I spoke with at least a half dozen other travel companies, looking for a Galapagos cruise that fit our schedule and budget.
