Passengers are welcome to board the ship at 6:00 p.m. Settle in your cabin and attend to the crew Introduction over a welcome cocktail and dinner. Remain in port overnight.
This morning join an optional tour of Berlin, a city that was long divided, illustrating the division of the world into two blocks. Return to the ship for lunch. Enjoy a free afternoon in Berlin and get back on the ship for a delightful dinner on board. Before the day is over, head out for a tour of Berlin by night. Remain in port overnight.
Today leave for an optional excursion of Charlottenburg Castle. Depart for Potsdam, arriving at the beginning of the afternoon. Once you have arrived, set off for an optional excursion of Potsdam and the gardens of Sanssouci Palace. Return back on board at the end of the afternoon and continue to cruise in the direction of Brandenburg.
Begin to cruise early in the morning for Burg. Join an optional tour of Magdeburg, situated midway on the Elbe River and the historic Roman Roads. Its cathedral is one of the most important Gothic-style edifices in Europe. During this time, the boat sails to Magdeburg, where you must board at the end of the afternoon. Enjoy some free time this evening to explore the city on your own.
Start your morning cruising to Calvörde. Join an optional visit of Autostadt, a combination automotive theme park and museum with separate buildings for each VW brand. During this time, the boat sails to Wolfsburg, where you must board at the end of the afternoon. During the night leave for Anderten.
Depart early for Hanover, arriving at the beginning of the morning. Then set off on an excursion to Hanover. The capital of Lower Saxony, Hanover is one of the main economic centers in Germany. During this time, the boat continues its course for Minden. Board it again and continue to cruise to Nienburg. Your ship will cruise through the rest of the day.
Today join an optional transfer for the free tour of “Red Town”, home of a magnificent town hall from the Weser Renaissance. During this time, the ship continue its course for Hoya, where you must board it once again. Then, spend the afternoon cruising to Bremen.
Join an optional tour of Bremen (walking tour), the oldest maritime city in Germany and the second largest trading port in Germany after Hamburg. Then return on board and depart for Oldenburg. Stroll in the city before you board the ship again and begin to cruise toward Doerpen , arriving during the night.
Begin to cruise early in the morning for Papenburg. Then, join an optional tour of the Meyer Werft shipyard. Return on board and leave for Groningen. Remain in port overnight.
In the morning, set off for an optional tour of Amsterdam. In the afternoon, leave for an optional excursion to Volendam and the Zaanse Schans. This evening, get off the ship for an optional canal boat tour of the city.

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
