Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
All-day optional excursion in Reykjavik city before leaving to enjoy a panoramic tour to the volcanic Reykjanes Peninsula, Vikingaheimar, and the geothermal fields of Krysuvik. Overnight in port.
In the morning, reach Akranes and disembark by tenders for a full-day optional excursion to Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful thermal spring, and to the Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls area. Stop in Reykholt, which was at one time one of the intellectual centers of the island and had for many years one of the most important schools of the country. Here lived and died in the Middle Ages one of the most important persons in Icelandic history: Snorri Sturluson, a famous poet and politician whose records of the old Norse language and mythology of medieval Iceland are invaluable to modern scholars. Remains of his farm and a bathroom with a hot pot and a tunnel between the bath and the house can still be visited. In the afternoon, rejoin the ship and sail to the west fjords.

Back in town, visit the maritime museum and walk around the town known for its rich cultural heritage and merchant's homes dating from the 18th century. In the late afternoon, sail to Siglufjordur.
This morning reach Siglufjordur, Iceland's northernmost city, very close to the Arctic Circle and possibly the most picturesque port of Iceland. It was once known as the capital of herring fishing. Enjoy an optional walking tour through the city, the port, the herring museum, and the folk music center housed in Madame House, the oldest house in the city. After lunch leave for nearby Husavik port and in the late afternoon sail in the Skjafandi Bay and reach Husavik, Europe's capital of whale watching. There is plenty of time for you to stroll around this charming fishing village and visit the wooden church, the best preserved church in Iceland
This morning enjoy a full-day optional excursion from Husavik to Akureyri. Visit the Lake Myvatn, Namarksard and Dimmuborgir, all fine examples of the volcanic world with lava fields, boiling and steaming mud pools, steam vents, and craters. Kate was great to work with in the planning stage. She was prompt, helpful, and efficient. Our tour guide, Edwin, was knowledgeable and passionate. We were very happy to have traveled with Adventure Life, it made the trip easy and a true pleasure. We could concentrate on enjoying the experience rather than the details of travel.

Our travel was flawless! The rider pickup (airport, hotel, ship) was seamless. Jane's recommendation for Emerald Cruise Sakara was everything I wanted but the experience was soooo much more. Adventure Life took care of each and every detail and this was the easiest of all my travels.

I spoke with at least a half dozen other travel companies, looking for a Galapagos cruise that fit our schedule and budget. Some companies could manage one or the other, but Erin was the only one who could do both. She found us the perfect cruise, at a fantastic price! And she has been quick and patient with responses to my many questions. So far, Adventure Life has been a fantastic company to work with!
