Fly Quito - Cuenca

Mansion del Angel, Quito

After a 45 minutes flight, we landed in Cuenca, the flight was a good start... all those volcanoes below as welcoming us to our fast journey.
Cuenca, so beautiful to loose a minute so we run to the Cajas National Park.
This special place is surrounded by lakes (230!!!), the sun plays with the shadows over the mountains... each step is full of good energies. The Polilepis trees makes you feel as part of a fairy tail.
Back in Cuenca we deceided to visit a great museum, it is Pumapungo, there you can find archeolgy, colonial art, culture of the country, great choise.

Full day in Ingapirca

Hotel Crespo, Cuenca

The two and a half hours from Cuenca deserved it! Ingapirca is an Inca fortress hidden between the Andes. Our guide make it live again!! What a culture. Landscapes around encourage you to continue the visit around the archeological site full of walls, rooms, pools.
In the way you can find some towns with magnificent churches and typical food decorates the highway... we stoped.

Cuenca and back to Quito in the afternoon

Mansion del Angel, Quito

Just when you visit it you understand why is was choosen as a World Cultural Heritage Site on 1999, the coblestone streets, the churches, old buildings, convents, etc. The people provides the unforgettable touch of a charming city, definetely could spend there much more time.
For not loosing time, we run to a "Hat factory", I couldn't believe when I saw that you can pay for a hat made that minute just for you... amazing. We waited at the coffe place there saying bye to the Tomebamba river that decorates this beautiful city.
Time to go back to Quito and enjoy the view of the sunset over the Andes.
