HOME » Argentina Travel » Hosteria El Pilar This is our primary hotel choice in this location, though availability is not guaranteed. If a given hotel is not available for your tour date, we will reserve you a room at a hotel of similar appeal and quality in the same area. Hosteria El Pilar
Hosteria El Pilar is a quiet lodge built and run by people with a true love for the surrounding mountains of the Fitzroy Range. The Hosteria is full of mountaineering mementos and pictures of famous climbs and climbers. This quiet Hosteria is 15 miles from El Chalten. With mountains as a backdrop and a river on the property and warm welcoming hosts this is an excellent place to call home before heading out on your trek or as a place to rest your tired feet on your return. El Pilar is a small lodge - with only 6 rooms each with their own private bathrooms. The lodge is off the grid and generates its own electricity - it also has no phone. Enjoy being in the backcountry of Patagonia, in the evenings gather around the woodstove in the heart of the lodge and exchange traveling tales with your fellow guests. Or browse the many books on mountains and mountaineering in the reading room. In the cozy dining room enjoy delicious home cooked meals, often with a Creole theme. If you are lucky you may find your evening ending with dancing and music provided by Marcello the owner!!
