Gourmet Dining
All meals are prepared and enjoyed under the "Galpon." This is the log roof deck with open sides and is the main meeting area of the camp. Meal times are always festive occasions at the camp. Guests are welcome to join in and help in meal preparation. The tasty Chilean red wine is always flowing and travelers gather around our hand-made wood table to enjoy the meals by candlelight. Gourmet-quality meals include goose, lasagna made in the Dutch oven, fajitas, cashew stir fry chicken, fresh salads and homemade desserts every night. Vegetarians will love the abundance of fresh vegetables that are harvested daily from the garden. In front of the dining area is the cozy campfire, surrounded by benches, where travelers can relax and enjoy hot tea or coffee. Cultural ExchangeThe camp shares its land with a wonderful Chilean family, the Diocares. The camp in located within a 5 minute walk from a true, working Chilean homestead. The warm, friendly family has an open invitation for all of the guests to visit them and share in their rustic kitchen. Travelers can enjoy a tour of their handmade tools and abundant greenhouse (where the camp receives all of their delicious fresh produce). The family loves guests to come visit their home and take in some of the local flavor. This family has a vegetable garden and every meal includes fresh produce from the garden. They also make the camp fresh bead everyday so travelers can always look forward to warm fresh bread everyday morning!
