HOME » Costa Rica Travel » Playa Nicuesa Lodge This is our primary hotel choice in this location, though availability is not guaranteed. If a given hotel is not available for your tour date, we will reserve you a room at a hotel of similar appeal and quality in the same area. Playa Nicuesa Lodge
This owner-operated preserve is nestled within the awesome blue-green waters of the Golfo Dulce/Pacific Coast, the lush rainforest of the 14,000 hectare Piedras Blancas National Park, and unspoiled remote beaches on the Golfo Dulce and Osa Peninsula. These types of neighbors ensure privacy and nature at its best and most pristine. Four types of accomodations are offered: one and two-bedroom cabins, cabin suites, and the Mango guest house. The Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge is a place that is remote yet accessible, sensitively designed in harmony with the environment, and a nature lover's, adventure sports lover's and environmentalist's dream.
One of the great aspects of Playa Nicuesa is the jungle and sea location! Playa Nicuesas front yard is literally a gulf off the Pacific Ocean, and the backyard offers thousands of acres of pristine tropical rainforest. Hence, the lodge offers both land and water based adventures and activities. Most may be self guided, or you may be led by the in-house nature guides upon request. Included in your stay are unlimited self guided hikes on preserve, use of kayaks, windsurfers, snorkeling and fishing gear.
The following tours and activities are available right here at the lodge with lodge guides:
We can also arrange the following tours with lodge guides and/or local tour operators:
* Horseback Riding (5 or 25 min. boat ride) * * These tours require at least 24 hours advance notice to arrange Environmental Initiatives Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge is an environmentally sensitive lodge set on a 165-acre private preserve in the undeveloped Pacific Coast Osa Peninsula/Golfo Dulce region of Southern Costa Rica. The lodge embraces conservation and harmony with the natural environment and caters to travelers interested in ecotourism, nature, adventure and sports. Playa Nicuesa is located within the lush rainforest on the Piedras Blancas National Park, and fronts the pristine coastline of the Golfo Dulce. The goal is to provide guests with an experience that they will always remember fondly: Excellence, friendly service, beautiful accommodations, educational opportunities and unique, well run adventure activities, and to provide this experience while operating the lodge in the most environmentally friendly manner possible. We invite you to journey to a place where many local people still get about by hand carved wooden boats, fish for their dinner with handlines, and always take the time to smile and greet friends and visitors with the customary Pura Vida (life is good)!
