Grano de Oro
Situated on a shady street just off Paseo Colon, San Jose?s main thoroughfare, Hotel Grano de Oro is a true oasis, a sanctuary in the heart of the city. Converted from a Tropical Victorian mansion, the 40-room hotel maintains the warmth and comfort of a private home and is a great place to relax on a Costa Rica trip.
Hallways lined with period photographs and original art meander through the building and present lush tropical flower arrangements and luxurious plants at every turn. Spanish tile fountains grace intimate atriums, ensuring that one is never far from the soothing melody of falling water. The entire Hotel is non-smoking.
Vista del Oro:
Reached by a private staircase, the Vista de Oro lives up to its name commanding a breathtaking view of the Central Valley skyline. Tiles, individually handmade in hues of ocher and sienna cover the walls and are complemented by rich wood paneling. The suite?s living area is stylishly furnished with exquisite antiques and a luxurious king size bed. A large in-room Jacuzzi is the ideal vantage point from which to savor a glass of champagne and watch the lights of the city twinkle below.
Originally the homes living room, now a spacious suite with a king size bed and large windows opening onto a private tropical garden and patio. The Victorian feeling of the wood paneling and hardwood floor truly takes you back in time.
This two room suite comfortably accommodates up to five people. The main room has a queen and a twin bed and a small seating area. The adjoining room has a second queen bed. Each room has it?s own access to the bathroom.
The most spacious of the hotel\'s four room categories, these offer a king size bed.
The deluxe rooms are similar in size to the deluxe king rooms and offer either one or two queen sized beds.
A bit smaller than the deluxe rooms, superior rooms offer one queen sized bed.
This category offers cozy quarters with one queen sized bed.
*Terrace:A rooftop garden terrace with lawn beds and 2 Jacuzzis provides secluded lounging. Open daily from 9am to 10pm.
*Gift Shop:The Gallery gift shop displaying quality Costa Rican handicrafts is the perfect place to browse for that special souvenir of Costa Rica. With the exception of El Cano Colombian Gold jewelery, all products are made in Costa Rica. Open daily from 7 am to 9:30pm.

Relaxing Massage 30, 60 or 90 minutes:
This signature treatment combining Swedish massage techniques, firm pressure and long relaxing stokes for optimum relaxation.
Deep Tissue Massage:
This massage is designed for pre or post activity. A firmer, more vigorous massage targeting your specific areas of concern. Great for sore muscles and getting ready for, or getting over the last Costa Rican adventure. Treatment time is 50 minutes.
Hot Stone Massage with Aromatherapy:
Experience the extraordinary combination of large, hot rocks, massage and aromatherapy. The deep, healing properties of the warm stones deliver a more centered, deeper level of relaxation that stays with you long after the massage is completed.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage:
A light-touch relaxing massage that follows the lymphatic pathway for great detoxification reduces swelling and eliminates toxins.
Costa Rican Aromatherapy Massage:
This massage will tingle and soothe all the senses. Start with a stimulating dry brushing, followed with an aromatherapy, cleansing essential oils and finished with a 60 minute massage using essential oils of the finest quality.

Restaurant Grano de Oro merges Costa Rican tropical with European cuisine under the expertise of the hotel\'s French chef Francis Canal. Once a simple cafe, this restaurant has evolved into one of San Jose?s finest dining establishments, frequented by locals and tourists alike.
Specialty cocktails, classically presented dishes and delicious desserts are served in the charming ambiance of a magnificent period home with an elegant inner courtyard. The bilingual wait staff provides professional and friendly service. Service is offered throughout the day from 6 am to 10 pm. Restaurant, patio and bar are non-smoking.
The bar offers a variety of specialty coffees, martinis, champagne cocktails and classic drinks. With an old world feel, it is the perfect place to wind down and enjoy a small bite to eat or partake from our full menu.
Two private rooms are located on the second floor of the restaurant. They are reminiscent of old San Jose with tropical Victorian d?cor and antique furnishings.
The SALA GRANO DE ORO has a minimum capacity of 10 people and a maximum of 16. It measures 4.5 meters wide and 7.50 meters long with one long Imperial table. It is a perfect ambiance for business meetings or elegant private dining.
The SALA POZUELO has a minimum capacity of 17 people and a maximum of 40 people for business meetings, private functions or private dinners. It is also available for private cocktail parties for up to60 people.
It measures 5.70 meters wide and 15.80 meters long has private restrooms and a small elegant lounge with sofas perfect for pre-dinner cocktails.
