Nenkepare Community Campsite was built by locals to encourage ecotourism in a local community effort to conserve the Ecuador Amazon rainforest habitat in the face of oil interests in the region. Enjoy a visit to Huaorani Lodge and kayaking along the river for an overnight at this campsite.
The campsite consists of raised permanent platforms that hold tents for travelers to overnight. Travelers sleep on a full size mattress inside their tent on the wooden platforms. The facility offers a single flush toilet as well as cold water shower for use by all travelers. A covered common area separate from the platforms is used for all the food prep and cleaning. You will enjoy a full service experience while camping in the rainforest!
During free time, travelers can hike to a nearby waterfall into a natural pool. Take a dip after a hot day in the rainforest in its cool waters! Hike around on nearby trails to spot wildlife, or enjoy some of the locals from nearby Nenkepare Community.

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.
