Hotel Monasterio

At the heart of Cuzco is the 16th-century Hotel Monasterio, originally built as a monastery in 1592. Hotel Monasterio is the ideal base from which to discover Cuzco and the ancient ruins at Machu Picchu, which can be reached via a spectacular three-hour train journey.

Hotel Monasterio has 126 rooms including seventeen Standard Rooms, ninety-one Deluxe Rooms, twelve Junior Suites, one Deluxe Suite, three Presidential Suites and two Royal Suites.

The decoration and furnishings combine the best of modern and traditional Spanish colonial style, many of them with charming views of the city or the colorful rooftops of Cuzco. You can feel the presence of the past even if you are pampered with every luxury and modern comfort.

All rooms are equipped with:

The original architecture and design of the Monasterio has not been significantly altered, and thus the rooms do reflect their origins as a home for Jesuit seminarians. There are no two rooms alike and they all vary in size and format.

The Hotel Monasterio has counteracted the sickness altitude problem by introducing an oxygen supplementation system in most of our rooms.

	Deluxe Rooms
	At Monasterio, we have ninety-one Deluxe Rooms, many with lovely views to the Main Court Yard. These rooms offer remote controlled television, individually controlled heating system, personal safety box and two telephones. There are two handicap accessible Deluxe Rooms. Around sixty-five guest rooms are enriched with oxygen to help combat any problems encountered as a result of the high altitude.
	Junior Suites
	There are twelve Junior Suites in the hotel, all designed with two levels. Each suite has a lovely bedroom on the mezzanine level and offers remote controlled television, writing desk, individually controlled heating system, personal safety box and two telephones. Our Junior Suites are enriched with oxygen to make your stay more pleasant.
	Deluxe Suite
	Our Deluxe Suite offers spacious and deluxe accommodation with various facilities. This charming suite offers a separate living room, a king size bed, remote controlled VCR/TV, three phones, fax machine, safe box, individually controlled heating system, a marble bathroom and a writing desk. This Suite is enriched with oxygen to make your stay more pleasant.
	Presidential Suites
	The hotel has three spacious and elegant Presidential Suites, all featuring a king-size bed, separate living room and a marble bathroom. Additional facilities include remote controlled VCR/TV, writing desk, individually controlled heating system, safety box, 2 telephones and a fax machine. To make your stay more pleasant you will be able to enjoy the unique room enriched with oxygen. The two Royal Suites at Hotel Monasterio offer the best in luxurious accommodation, with a wide range of facilities including an outdoor terrace, separate living room, marble bathroom, remote controlled VCR/TV, writing desk, individually controlled heating system, safety box, 4 telephones and a fax machine. The suite is also equipped with a bath and separate shower and a private court yard.
